Thanks for the input guys.

I'm going to rent Gears of War and Lost Planet before I buy them. I've heard that both games are good and bad an so I'll see for myself before wasting money.

Of course I'll get Xbox Live. I can't use my friends anymore cause he doesn't have Gold.

That aside, I was talking more along the lines of what version 360 I should get... I'm thinking of getting an Elite.

It's now much less common to be finding new games that are still level-based (By level-based,  I mean in a "Crash Bandicoot" way, know what I mean? I'm tired of games that have mission menus, ugh.), as games are now veering towards mainly being free-roaming, large map adventure games (I.E Grand Theft Auto, Just Cause, The Godfather).

I enjoy both types of games, free-roaming because, well they are fun, and level based because I get a sense of accomplishment when I do something. After I defeat a huge boss or hard ass level I feel like I actually got something done, but in a free roaming game everything I do is up to me...so I tend to do nothing at all. In a level based game if you do something wrong you get "MISSION FAILED," but in games such as GTA everything you do it right...

Then again, 2 of my top 3 favorite games are free-roaming and the other is a sports game.

Maybe I just enjoy Gears of War because of its multi-player capabilities, because, who DOESN'T like taking a chainsaw and mauling someone else's face off in real time? And then after they die you hear them screaming into the microphone "OMFG YOU NOOB, STOP DOING THE SAME THING!11!." Ahh...that feeling is priceless.

Gears Of War wasn't that good, it felt too much like Unreal Tournament,

Same engine as the latest one but the UT games handle far differently than GOW

Wikipedia lies.

SKU is the version of the console, eg. Core, Premium, Elite, Halo 3, Simpons, etc.

Get the "etc." version. I've never seen or heard of it before, but it sounds damn well worth the money.

It's not. Microsoft hands you a pile of horse shit and says, "Eat. Then debug. We'll get back to you."

Opps. I thought you said the Halo 3 ver.
