MAD is Probably Just Asleep

As I sit on the brink of existancelessness, I look down upon the people of our good earth and say, "MAD is DEAD."

Seriously - It's a fish out of water. The new generation of touch apple products have thrown iStories out the window. ANYONE can put Rockbox on their iPod now. There's just no place left in the internets for iStories. It hurts to see me beloved pastime of MAD fanboyism flushed down the drain, but I think it's time to put this writhing fish out of it's asphyxiationly misery.

I don't even know why I'm writing this; I haven't been on MAD in months. I'm just on my old computer and MAD's still a bookmark so I hopped over to see what's happening. Turns out, not much. There's been about five topics made since I last stopped by a couple months ago.

I have no idea what I even want. It's not like Mars or anyone could just delete the site and forum. The countless threads of awesomeness must never perish. But it's painful to sit here watching NOTHING. Mad's empty. It's dead. There's just nothing left. We squeezed the last breath out of her on her birthday, and as we enter a new year, I have to come to terms with the fact that MAD's gone. But I don't want to lose all the cool people I've met. Dneezy, get your ass on Gtalk sometime. I'll get an aim soon, I hope.

Anyway, MAD is DEAD. The end.

Cheerio.

*GASP* Where else would I devote my time to?

I guess my site.

This question makes you think,

"Without MAD Studios, how popular would the iStorie genre be?"

Dude, MAD isn't dead. It has gone downhill since it's second birthday, for sure, but by no means is it flat lining. All of us who still remain veterans of this forum's history still check in every once in a while. MAD may be in a recession, and it might not ever come out of it, but I'll be knocking on the door of every member's house demanding them to get on and post threads about the most meaningless shit before I see this site die.

No, seriously lumpy. I'll be severely disappointed if you don't keep your word. You have my full backing in whatever it is you're doing... or going to do.

Mad won't be dead as long as a few of us post. It might not be about iStories anymore, but this baby is not going down.
Guess what! I'm writing a book called Nuclear Winter!

That's a pretty stupid thing to say.

Exactly. MAD doesn't need to be just iStories. In fact, we've already deviated from iStories enough. I think there are only like, three member who even venture into the iStories board anymore.

Jokes aside, storm's being a little pessimistic. You should realise that most of the forum activity over the years has been not at all related to iStories. The site's become the secondary part of MAD Studios. I still like visiting these forums after two and a half years. Whilst I don't enjoy updating and posting as much as I used to, it's still a good pastime. I have incredibly fond (not to mention incredibly geeky) memories of mad lost and ridiculous flame wars and erection jokes and more erections and - oh.. the memories. So I will issue a collective 'chin-up', people. I'm not shutting this down, even if no one visits it. Until the internet explodes or invisionfree or freewebs goes bankrupt, the site and forum will remain.

It's simple. If you like MAD, all you have to do is keep posting. Getting some friends on board would be nice too though!

The supportive words of you loyal members instills me with a great pride. No seriously, I'm not writing you guys a poem or anything, but thank you all.

Nothing like a little pessimism to unite a close group of friends.

MAD is Probably Just Asleep, stormbreaker. Get your head in the game.
