There is a heaven and there is a hell!

I love how Christians (and other religious people) can say stuff like this without any proof what so ever.

What if I say prove it? You can't!

That's why it's called faith.

No. People put their faith and trust in humans every day....and get disappointed time after time. My religious faith has never let me down. Does that mean I get everything I want? No. It means I get everything I need....and the strength to deal with the hard things.

Hey, faith is great for some people. I agree. But you can't say that heaven and hell exists just because I say so.

And I respect your right to be an atheist. We all depend on whatever we need to to get through this crazy world. For me, that's a belief in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. But whatever works for someone else (including atheism), I have no problem with that.

I'm sorry Warriorsfan, I am in no way trying to question your intellegence by what I'm about to say, but how can you be an atheist? I mean, how do you think we got her. Just look at nature. Everything is far too well designed to have just come together through evolution. And behind design is a designer.

I'm not an overly religious person, but I do believe in God and heaven, Satan and hell. I believe that one day, when I die, I will be going to heaven because I believe that Jesus Christ was God's son. I believe the Bible is God's word.

sorry, maybe i should have specified, i am a weak athiest
Quote:

Weak atheism (also called negative atheism) is the lack of belief in the existence of God or gods, without a commitment to the necessary non-existence of God or gods

I am not saying that there is no higher power but one that may have started a form of life and it evloveu into us and other animals.

Of the billions of trillions of planets in the universe, its hard to believe that there is NOT a planet with hospitable living conditions that may be considered "well designed"

I simply believe that life is too short to be thinking about whether gods exist(which is more like ignosticism but i like to call myself an athiest)

i dont really wanna think about what happens when i die, but instead about my life at the moment

I find it hard to reconcile your "faith" that you allude to in this posts with your seeming fondness for "Imagine." You do realize that "Imagine" is an anti-faith song, right?

Not really. I think it's just an abstract idea by John Lennon for people of all ages and race groups to consider. John Lennon was Catholic right ?

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

I love Imagine- it's the ringtone I have for my mom

Glad u enjoy it too. I hope more people would just give three minutes of their time to listen to the song and try to discipher the meaning.

"Imagine...no religion, too"? The song is anti-faith.

I don't know what faith Lennon was raised with, but I doubt he had any faith in his last 10 year--at least.

You don't think there'd be war anyway if there were no religion? The old Soviet Union did not recognize religion, but participated in quite a number of wars over its history.
