Die hard and lots of you folks might disagree but listen,The reason i made this thread is because im angered the way the press took advantage because they think bush lied about the hurricane in new orleans.Let me ask you this question.Have anyone of you been polled? Now answer this honestly anyone of you ever been polled?None of us really get a phone call from the press and ask us about opinon about george w bush and how you might vote in november. The reason the press put up those numbers 48% will vote for democrats and 30% of republicans is because their editors told them put those numbers up there. This pisses the hell outta me.Any of you remember when bill clinton monica lewinsky scandel NOT ONE MEDIA SOURCE Polled people in 1998 election on how they would vote for congress and senate. The point is the liberal media is one sided and most people go along whatever the press says and thats how the liberals gain power. What we need now is Rush Limbaugh to get back on TV again and Fight and show people the real truth about the liberals and the media.Rush has to use the POWER OF TELEVISON AGAIN! TV is a very powerful tool to influance people.I suggest you listen to the words of a frank zappa song called (I AM THE SLIME) and that song is the truth about the power of televison. |

No offense Steve, but I think you might be a bit paranoid about the dDemocrats winning. I can assure you, there is no way that will ahppen. I'm assuming thier candiates in '08 will be Hilary and Kerry, and they don't stand a chance. |

So? If people don't know that 'public' polls can/are misleading then they shouldn't be voting. If a poll is making a decision for you, that is pretty sad. |

Element theres a reason why some people are very easly mislead and they will belive what the polls say.Thats why i like election voting laws changed cause theyre very stupid people going to the polls and vote.My suggesting is this. If you are unemployed or dont have an high school dimploma you cant vote.In other words if you dont have a job and you dont have an high school dimploma You cant vote.If you have an high school dimploma and unemployed you can vote.So this way if those who dont have an high school dimploma you better get your lazy ass out there and work or you cant vote. So this way you dont have too many stupid people going to the polls. |

Don't take away peope's right to vote, every citizen of this country should have that right. Once we start taking that right away from some groups, what's going to keep them from taking it away from more groups, its a slippery slope there. |

While it would reduce the votes for democrats a bit, I don't think we should take away rights in the land of the free.
This one made me laugh, you didn't need a 'In other words' there, you said exactly the same thing. 3 sentences where one would do. |

High School dropouts aren't criminals. I think there is a HUGE difference from High School dropout than criminals. Actually, voting is one of the basic rights that our Founding Fathers wanted us to have. Even if they vote democrat, why can't their voice be heard? (That is like me telling you that you can't vote just because you are going to vote republican) |

I am a high school drop-out, I am fairly sure you can not talk to me in a manner in which I could not comprehend. See i have been places and done things, things that have made me feel as though I have made up for my short comings concerning my education level. Adult things, mind you, like going to war, twice for 7 months, (more like 10 if you include detachments), leaving everything you know and love to defend the rights of those that cannot for what ever reason do so. I've paid the price for you to have the right to cry, complain, and brain wash others with your propaganda ( not that every political conversation vowing one particular allaince wouldn't constituite as propaganda ) I have married, raised 2 children, and am a fully caring, understanding, and respected (without being feared) leader of the seamen that will be the future of the United States Navy. According to you since I didn't gradute high school, so i have no future, no means to reach any form of particularly important achievement or worth, I truly am lucky to have finally learned to work this keyboard thing. See the problem with people, or republicans in general, is they always feel as if people all start out with the same chances in life, as if they had the same opportunities as everyone else, they just chose not to use the resources around them. There are some really lazy ass people in this world and it isn't only the unemployed. You would like to classify people and choose thier rights accordingly, reward those that are sucsessful, sounds pretty republican to me, and wrong. Those born into poverty, areas like mississippi with lousy schools, those born into disease to crack head mothers with no jobs, no medical care, and no insurance as if it is thier fault. You expect these people to achieve the same things you may or may not achieve yourself, knowing you were probably brought up in better circumstances, with better tools and resources, you SHOULD achieve more. You know what else, you probably don't care for these people, wouldn't lend a helping hand because you walked by with your republican nose in the air, never even crossed your mind that a minute of your time, your 5 dollars they could use to eat, or just a word of encouragement could change the world for those that are less off than you. In the navy you have to take tests, be evaluated, and prove you should be promoted, even if you pass the tests it doesn't nessecarily mean you will be advanced. without a high school diploma, by 24, I have went from E-1 to E-5 in four years, there are people i work with that have been in 14 years, are E-5's and work under me; but maybe i am the exception right? maybe everyone you ever walked by is the exception, given the right opportunity, the right training, a bit of compassion. I have a 61' HD TV, 400 dvd's, a brand new and nice furnishings in my house, computer with everything, 2 nice cars, $4000 in my bank account,.... I should have dropped out sooner. Don't think this is all i am capable of, don't think the military is the only place i can succeed, don't think this is my defining moment, please don't try to catagorize me. |

I kinda agree with spitten_cubs, just because you don't have a complete education doesn't mean you are stupid or ignorant of what needs to be done in the country. People in different situations need to vote for people who will be best to help them out, everybody needs their voice heard. I even think high school students should get to vote for local officials because the decisions of county and even state legislature will affect them. For instance in Maryland the driving law was made stricter last year by people adults voted in not the people it affects voted in. |

I could come up with a couple better accuisitions than that, or atleast a couple descent re-buttles [edited out the personal attack]. I haven't voted, don't see the point, really never liked any of them, nothing any of them could really change my daily life, enough to matter anyway. |

Wait, is there something wrong with voting for Democrats, I'm a Repulcan in a lot of ways, but there is nothing wrong with themhaving a different opinion. Also, voting is the right the Founding Fathers based this country on. Also, as Element said, high school dropouts aren't criminals. When you got to prison, you pretty much lose all your rights. |

Well put. In MD, we have the deal going on about money for education, where the Republicans want slot machines, and the Democrats don't. The Republican Governor Ehrlich is pro slot machines, and the Democratic opponent is Speaker of the House Michael Busch. His counter to slots is a raise of $.01 to the sales tax in MD, raising it to $.06. Now, to keep a nice, local community from having the slot machines ruin a town I hold near and dear, and partly grew up in, I am for paying an extra cent on the dollar. Add to the fact I know where the money is going for taxes, but what I don't know is if some racetrack or restaurant owner is skimming the slot money. I am also a Roman Catholic, with Republican leanings. However, I'm usually lopped in with the religious right, and crackpots like Pat Robertson (who said Mother Theresa is not a saint) and Jimmy Swaggert (who told a priest that trained in the church that his sick parishioner could go to hell.) I hate the fact that these guys speak for me, when I dispise some of their actions. |

You dont understand.Back during when our founding fathers were alive not everyone could vote. For Example you must own land in order you can vote.So there should be some rules and regalations before you can vote. |
