A little off of Big Willys post, this is about the pledge itself....now I stand up and say it everyday in school, but you'll always have the ass' who complaine about it mainly so they don;t gotta stand, well this big thing happened with out school, and they decided everyone had to stand, but you didn't have to say it...well thats still fine for me, I still did both....well then, the lazy ass' kept complaining about needing to stand up...so this big thing happened again, and now guess what, they say you don't have to stand if you don't want to.

It pisses me off, becuase the least everyopne could do is fricken stand, I mean come on.

But anyways, so now when I stand its only me and like 3 other kids out of 25, and they all say, 'yo why you standing boy,' And I just laugh at them, like Shut the F---- up, becuase its so stupid to ask me that, I wanna just slap them wit my backhand

Who cares what everybody else thinks? If it makes the team better, that's all that is important.

Its required at my school to stand, but you do not have to say it. I don't see what the huge deal is. Anyone who complains is doing so for a stupid reason, or to attract attention to themselves.

most people stand in my class, some teachers get pissed if you don't.
But I always do, and we have a moment of silence after the pledge, and most kids sit down then but not me

The next time they ask you why you're standing, say "Because I'm an American. What the f are you?"

Ok, don't say the "f" part, you'll get suspended....

In politics, if you want anything said, ask a man; if you want anything done, ask a woman. - Margaret Thatcher

I never married because there was no need. I have three pets at home which answer the same purpose as a husband. I have a dog that growls every morning, a parrot that swears all afternoon, and a cat that comes home late at night - Marie Corelli (19th century author)

Standing is a matter of courtesy. Even if you hate America or have something against the pledge, stand as a courtesy to everyone else. Those who do not stand are being selfish. They are saying, "Look at me. I am special. I have a POV that makes me special. I want attention." I don't respect people who cannot show those around them, even those they disagree with, basic courtesies.

At the height of the Cold War, Americans stood for the Soviet Union's national anthem at the Olympics. Not out of allegiance, but out of courtesy. Courtesy in America is dying, though. Mourn its passing.

I was going to use the Olympics as a good example.

At our school everybody stands, but hardly anybody says it, I do because I love this country.

It is required at our school that every child stand during the Pledge and the National Anthem. Every parent and guest is asked to do likewise. Anyone in the hallways is asked to stop where they are and observe the respect due to the flag and our country. At every assembly we have a color guard that presents the flags (Nation and city).
It's a school-wide effort supported by the teachers. If we didn't back it up, it wouldn't happen. Hopefully, it will instill a sense of respect that will continue after the students leave our school.

Canada kicks ass ! From what I understand, there is no pledge of allegence to says to the country everyday, but instead, I believe that the schools have the national anthem blasted through the PA system and every kid must stand. I'd perfer that they add a rule that states u must put your hand over you heart during the anthem, if you're a Canadian Citizen or not, but the government's retarded.
