I've heard news long time ago about the 360 kph high speed trains ...anyway why US doesn't have decent high speed train networks is because US is a big country and we depend on airplanes to fly from city to city. This new high speed train amtrak could use.America has an old old railroad system. In order to get better train service, we would have to upgrade the railroads to newer and safer railroad tracks. It's nearly impossible because democrats dont want to spend money on that. They want to spend money on Welfare, Medicare and SSI.Thats why you should throw out all democrats so we can move foward into the future. There's a video of Japanese maglev...it's not on rails, it's on a magnetized track...going 500 kilometers per hour...which is about 310 miles per hour. Japanese maglev |

We shouldn't build any new rail systems because the American people have demonstrated, time and again, with a just handful of exceptions, that they are not the least bit interested in using long-distance passenger rail transportation. They'd rather fly. |

I agree flying will be more popular. Trains are only good if you don't want to drive far, but its not too far to fly and you want to save money. |

Yeah, I'd rather fly then ride in a train or car if I was going on a trip. |

Don't know, maybe if they could make the trains move pretty fast, faster than cars and maybe a bit slower than planes, then it might be worth it. Would at least create some jobs. |
