That wasn't a wipe out area, that would maybe be 150 miles, with effects felt with in maybe 300 miles, but the fact is the radiation would spread. You know Chernobyl in Ukraine, the radiation cloud cause by it was over Sweden in a week or two. |

I hate war. I don't want to be part of the Army or Navy, or Air Force, or even the Marines! |

Everyone hates war. However, from time to time (and we may legitimately disagree on the time), it is necessary. Those who are willing to serve in the armed forces, even in peace-time, deserve our gratitude for having kept us ready in case war is needed. |

Agreed Eye, in a perfect world war would not be nessasary, but unfortunaterly this is not a perfect world and sometimes war is the only way, i have a family who has a strong military history, 2 of my brothes used to be in the army, my dad used to be in the Navy and my Grandad died in Belgium fighting for us in World War 1. |

I don't know about that.....many people profit from war, and many politicians use war as a symbol of their patriotism and to build their legacy. Having a common "enemy", it seems, also builds nationalism. |

Do people think that some wars are nessasary and some are not?? Or do some people think that every war was not nessasary?? Just out of interest |

My opinion.... Some wars are necessary. When you (as a nation) are attacked, when your national security is threatened, when your allies are threatened, military action is justified. However, I think it should have a clear-cut agenda and a clear-cut view of what you expect the outcome to be. War, to me, is like marriage....it should not be entered into unadvisedly or lightly. These are not chess pieces being played with - they are people's children, their parents, their spouses, their siblings. I do not support going to war because my next door neighbor's boyfriend's cousin knows someone whose girlfriend said her high school teacher's youngest child overheard his friend's mom say there were WMDs hidden somewhere. |
