As the son of Christian parents and a recently ordained Minister of Recreation.. yes, I believe in God. I'm not very religious and I don't press my beliefs on anyone, but I do believe God and Heaven and Hell exist.

Yer i think it has been around for Billions of years, but much of the start it was un-inhabited, just molecules etc

One consequence of the Big Bang is that the conditions of today's universe are different from the conditions in the past or in the future (natural evolution of universe constantly takes place). From this model, George Gamow in 1948 was able to predict, at least qualitatively, the existence of cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB) [2]. The CMB was discovered in the 1960s and further validated the Big Bang theory over its chief rival, the steady state theory.

what textbook did u get that from?? LOL

 it was actually from an encyclopedia :P im ahistorian not a Scientist, i believe that but i only understand parts of it :D

2B, a question I have about evolution: Are we "done" yet? Or are we still evolving into a more physically perfect creature? And why are "imperfect" people still born?

to the first question i dont know, like i said im not a scientist!

to the secound one what do you mean by 'imperfect' do you been deformity's??

I'm not trying to be insensitive.....but it seems to me, if evolution is correct, then everyone should be born "perfect" by now....no deformities, and also we should no longer be born with parts that are generally considered "useless", like little fingers. Why do so many people need glasses/contacts? Shouldn't eyesight have "evolved" to where everyone has perfect eyesight by now?

I believe in God. A religion is a pathway different people of different races use to reach the 1 god. The gods off all religions lead to the one god.

I'm glad you said that Danny....I was going to bring up, you and 2B are both British....I don't know that it's a cultural difference or what, but I do find it funny that you two are both aligned closer to the "non-believers". Interesting.

I believe both in Creation and in evolution. If that seems like a contradiction, I can explain in another post or provide a link where I have explained this before.

However, I wanted to point out that evolution is not a process of perfection. It is a process of random change. Some of these random changes increase the probability of survival and procreation. Some decrease this chance. The latter will become more prevalent in the population. The former become less prevalent, or even die out. Since there are always changes that improve survivability and since the environment changes, which changes the high-survivability traits, perfection will never be attained.

Maybe because we only have a couple of Brits on DHB....and you're both pretty much non-believers....nothing wrong with that, just a funny coincidence, I guess.

Numerically, religion is much less important in Europe than it is here. Moreso in northern Europe than in southern Europe.

I think i posted some stats between the percentage of believers in the UK and the percentage of believers in the US and it was pretty different.
