I don't believe in Jesus!

so, if you don't mind my asking lol, what Religion are you following. Are you following a religion or do you just beleive that there is one God out there that is truly powerfull. I m still kind of debating on what religion I really should be following lol.

If any Religion at all :P

Yep...I don't follow a religion...I know what I believe in, so therefore I don't need a church or synagog! I'm a good person, I pray at night, but just am not involved in an organized religion!

I am very new to this board and am having a bit of trouble figuring out who is replying to who etc etc.

Someone asked me what religion I follow and another comment was that he or she posted that they were wondering what religion would be good.

May I suggest Jehovah's Witnesses? I am one..

There are a multitude of misconceptions in peoples minds about JW's. We are not the ogre's that many people think we are. Simply trying to get the message of the truth from the bible to people.

Best regards and I will try and figure out who is talking to who on here. I must be a bit slow today !!!! *STL*

I have to say that JW's annoy the hell out of me, they come to your door, i politerly say that im not interested, but they wont let me get away, the ones that i have came into contact with believe that i am uninformed if i do not believe in waht the bible says, and without blowing my own horn, this cant be more far from the truth.

It's easy, Nath. Just follow the one that gives you comfort when you're sad or depressed....the one that gives you hope in the future....the one that soothes your fears and worries.....the one that brings you joy when things seem the darkest.

well you could try spelling agnostic right for starters :P and I believe my religion is the right way because I've had a spiritual awakening through follow it's principles, beliefs, and practices.

havent check back in on this thread for a while :P

Quote:

Ignosticism (sometimes called apathetic agnosticism or apatheism) is the view that the question of the existence of deities is meaningless because it has no verifiable consequences, and should therefore be ignored. The term was coined by Rabbi Sherwin Wine, founder of The Society for Humanistic Judaism. For most purposes, this view may be considered a form of agnosticism, although it bears closer resemblance to nontheism.

Most of all that leads me to not wanting to be involved in a particular religion is religious fights. I think it's ludicris (sp?) that we have fights over something that nobody knows for sure is true. I AM NOT ATHIEST, but we don't 100% sure know there is a god. I"M NOT CHRISTIAN, but I'm not 100% sure Jesus is not the son of God, and if I can't know for sure something is true, I don't want to put my whole faith into it! That's my take on this whole thing! I believe in what I believe in, but I wouldn't bet my life on anything!

And that's why FAITH is the crucial component of any religion. I am a Christian, and I am the first to admit it is not always easy. Faith requires me, as I posted earlier in this thread, to leap sometimes, without seeing, without knowing.....but TRUSTING that a net is going to be there to catch me.

I see what you're saying. But for me, the longer I live, the less I have trust and faith in humans, and having faith in something far greater and more powerful than humans gives me peace.

I can understand that...You can really scare yourself when you start thinking about what controls the world... IMO, religion gives you peace with yourself...Life is not what happens in a booth on Sundays, but what you do with your life, and how you impact people; if that makes any sense!
