"I have to say that JW's annoy the hell out of me, they come to your door, i politerly say that im not interested, but they wont let me get away" If the person behind the door says he or she is not interested, think about this. JW's, if they are allowed to speak to the person, will tell them about Almighty God Jehovah, His Word the bible, the need of an accurate knowledge of bible truth, the divine promise from God about a cleansed earth soon to come with all persons at peace with each other. I wonder which of these things someone could not be interested in? |

"I can understand that...You can really scare yourself when you start thinking about what controls the world..." Did you know that the bible plainly says that Satan controls the world? |

Thanks for your reply. Would an atheist not even be interested in a cleansed earth where people would be at peace with one another? At the very least, even an atheist should be interested in that. It doesnt cost anything, only a few minutes of your time to listen when JW's call. |

The point is that he says he is not interested. If JWs continue to hassle him, it is no wonder that people find JWs annoying and won't ever want to listen to them! Me, I'll tell you once to get off my porch, then I will call the cops. You won't get the chance to annoy me. |

But it is a promise from God, as i dont believe in God im not going to listen to promises from him, it may only take a few minutes of my time, but it would be a waste of both of our times. |

Eye95: Dont you think that the real point is, that many people who say they are not interested when Jehovah's Witnesses call, dont really know what they are not interested in? If they never take the time to even talk for a few minutes with JW's how can they possibly know what they are not interested in?? I am sure that almost everyone would be interested in a cleansed earth of all wickedness, where only peaceable people live in perfect health and all that goes with it. If you are so strongly opposed to that suggestion, you must have good reason to think that way, so why dont you discuss that when JW's call instead of possibly being obnoxious to a peaceable person who is bringing you good news? I am not trying to annoy you. Just trying a bit to get you to think about it. 2BCano: If you really do not believe there is a God, there must be good reason why you feel that way. Would you be good enough to tell me that reason? Thanks to you both for your posts. |

I think a lot of people are put off by the seeming intolerance JW's show toward other religions. In fact, that's what one of my sister's does when they come to her door....she invites them to her church and talks to them about her beliefs. She says they leave right away, every time. |

Hi there...Actually there is some truth in what you say. Its not necessarily intolerance or else we wouldnt likely be talking to anyone about their beliefs. I cant address your sister's experience directly but I may suggest that the JW's who call on her perhaps have realized that the conversation has become stalled, or perhaps she is becoming a bit irritated etc etc, therefore it would be best to leave it for another time. We encounter almost any response from people that you can imagine. I am only surmising of course and dont in any way intend to insult you or your sister. The fact is, that is why JW's call on doors. To bring people the good news of God's Kingdom that will soon end the wickedness and suffering in the world. We are always reminded to be tactful and aware of others feelings and at the same time discuss bible points with them. If it isnt working with certain people, then its best as the bible says, to take your leave and depart. However JW's will certainly commend you, as a Christian, when you actually do talk about your beliefs. There are many many "Christians" who will not discuss their beliefs, in spite of the fact that it is a scriptural REQUIREMENT to do so. Thank you for replying to my post and I hope you will do it again. |

See? You just don't get the message. That is why people find JWs so danged annoying and, therefore, won't ever listen to you! Bugger off! I am not interested. I did not read past your first sentence! I am a Christian. I read the Bible. I consider the few JW teachings I have heard blasphemous and have no interest in listening to people I consider false prophets. Get the message? I am sorry I had to be blunt. But, some people don't get the message until you get blunt. If you were on my porch right now, the cops would be on the way. Now bugger off. |

Your post doesnt really sound too "Christian" to me. (You like being blunt). Did youi know that a Christian is a follower of Christ. Jesus said that we MUST declare the good news of God's Kingdom to the most distant part of the earth. Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones who are doing this. When was the last time you even THOUGHT about God's Kingdom let alone tell anyone else about it? I can only imagine that it is because you know absolutely nothing about it. When JW's talk to people abouit God's Kingdom, is that one of the teachings from the bible that makes us blasphemus? Or that the meek will inherit the earth and live forever on it? Are you ACTUALLY saying that you find the bible blasphemus? Remember, that this is not what JW's say. This is what the bible says. As a Christian, do you find the bible distasteful? If you like I will help you find the scriptural proof for that. OK? As for having the police come kick me off the porch, you know that wouldnt happen. If you asked me to leave, I defenitely would, but at the same time the police are well aware of the fact that everyone has the right in your country to follow their religious beliefs and that includes going door to door and city to city as Jesus and his apostles and other disciples did. As a "Christian" you should know this and do the same thing, not belittle those who do actually follow Jesus footsteps. As for now I am off your porch but I would like very much to discuss things from the Bible with you. How abouit it? |

Very true. Good post. And how do you get the message if you are so full of animosity that even as a Christian, you refuse to be hospitable to your neighbors as the bible says you have to be. |

Telegraph-operator: First off when a JW does come to my door under no circumstances will i be automatically rude, i will tell them politely that they would be wasting there time if they were to start talking, i wont be rude about it, i see it as saving them and me some time. I am a believer in Science not Religion, its always been that way, i have never felt or seen God in my life, no proof to his excistence, I put my faith in myself in my family and my friends not in something that i dont know exsists, i could be wrong, there could be a god, but untill there is proof i cant see me chanign my mind. + the Bible to me is full on inconsistencies, contradictions, to read and base my life my faith on soemthing with so many contradictions doesnt make sense in my mind, the society that i live in is not a religious one. |

Hi there 2BCano...Appreciate your response and your viewpoint. However, would you be good enough to give me ONE contradiction from the bible that you have in mind? Or 2 or 3 if you wish but one will do. Thanks |

Hey, thanks for the response. I'm sorry I did mean to ask you in my last post which beliefs of JW's do you think are blasphemus. Since you suggested that we are that way, it would be good if you would give me an instance or two. At the same time I think I may have been a little rude to you which I should not have been so I apologize for that. |

Of Course: MAT 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. LUK 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli. I am some what of a Historian, so have looked at several things closerly |
