He is a first baseman. DH is not a defensive position... he can play first base with decent defense. He just doesn't happen to play first everyday but he does when it's necessary. Your going to say he can't play cause he doesn't have a position? First base is his position in the field.

Homer, ok listen. If you look on his profile, IT DOESN'T SAY 1B. So therefore, HE ISN'T A FIRST BASEMEN. An ddon't give me this crap of "Well it's his position when he plays the field." HE DOESN'T PLAY THE FIELD, THATS IT.

He has only played 3 games at first this year and he played 10 last year.

If Ortiz wasn't on the ballot, he would still make the team no doubt there. So why take a deserving actual 1B starting spot. Besides I'd rather have Ortiz at the end of the game then the beginning.

Yeah, I think so. He's batting .365 and he's a great base-stealer.

They need to have RF, CF, and LF instead of 3 OF. OF is NOT a position.

Don't Manny and Vlad both play RF?

It doesn't have to be that way nate... Manny, Ichiro, Vlad could work with Ichiro in center. Remember Beltran played left field last year.
