Which leads me to wonder....how many future presidents will be burdened by this mess Bush has created in the Middle East?

Depends. Republican or Democrat?

Party affiliation doesn't matter. This is an equal opportunity mess that will affect at least the next 2 or 3 presidencies, IMO.

If a Democrat wins they will pull us out (even though I think we'll be out by then) and then terrorists will know that we back down from them.

You honestly think the U.S. will be out of Iraq in 2 years (when the next U.S. presidential election will be held)? How? Whether we want to admit it or not, we have thrown Iraq into a civil war - the Shiites vs. the Sunnis - and it shows no sign of letting up.

And because we know we caused it, our "moral compass" won't let us leave.

Yes yes it was the United States that started that civil war. I mean it hasn't been going on for thousands of years. That's just crazy!? It must be Bush's fault!

Get your facts straight.
