I just had to get this out, as I just realized this. Steroids became illegal in baseball in 2003, when Bonds allegedly stop taking them. He started taking steroids in 1999 and like I said, stopped in 2003 obviously, since he was "injured" all of 2005, and is showing so signs of taking steroids this year. So, is he really a cheater when taking steroids when they weren't banned in baseball? |

Ok, go think steroids are fair. I;m not sure if they were banned in baseball, but they were ILLEGAL. Owners were turning the other cheek. |

They aren't fair, but if everyone else took them and if steroids wasn't banned from baseball from 1999-2003, then taking them from that time shouldn't result in being a cheater. And, about the murder thing, thats a whole different story. Killing someone and taking substances are totally different. |

just because he found a loophole... so technically he didnt cheat because it wasnt illegal, but he cheated other players out of records and such. |

Bonds switched over to HGH, which was banned, but didn't show up on tests. |

I read this in Love me, Hate Me, and decided to kind of research it and found that some other baseball analysts think the same thing. |

imo Barry Bonds is a cheater. Those homeruns weren't because he was strong, it was due to steroids. |

It still doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if it was illegal or legal, a lot of other players weren't using steroids or HGH. Bonds used the steroids to break records and such. |

You really think other players wasn't using it? Take a look at Ken Caminiti, Mark McGwire, Jason Giambi, Rafael Palmeiro, Sammy Sosa, Jeremy Giambi, Curt Schilling, and Jose Canseco. Some of those are rumours, like Schilling, but Canseco, Ken Caminiti, Rafael Palmeiro are for sure. |

there are some good points being made, but I don't like it when people have an automatic hate for Bonds and don't consider these things i'm sure many other ballplayers were juicing too, just Barry gets all the crap about it |

Does it really only require strength to hit a homerun? I don't think so, because timing is also a very important part of baseball. |

Exactly, and Bonds already had goot bad speed. He would have been a 30-35 HR hitter without steroids, but now he's a 45 HR hitter. He had very impressive numbers before 1999 that would have probably gotten him into the HOF. I think he was the first player to have 400 HR's and 400 SB's, I may be wrong. |

Bonds is the best steroid era period. That enough will get him in the HOF. |
