Who are your all time favorite Yankee Killers?

Edgar (1995 ALDS as seen in my sig), Gonzo (2001 WS), Papi (2004 ALCS), and Jay Buhner (In general) top my list.

Haha when I came into this thread my first thought was Edgar and Buhner.

I'd like to add the Boston Red Sox of 2004 into that list as well. :P

Wasn't just '95 either....

After a regular season game in '01
Quote:

But Edgar Martinez, who has pounded Yankees pitching throughout his career, lined a double to left
field.

Quote:

"That was it," Lincoln said. "That was the hit. He just drove the Yankees nuts."

In 2000...

It was simply painful confirmation of what Torre knew. Two hours before the game he was sitting in the interview room at Safeco Field when somebody mentioned Edgar:

"For me, he just might be the best hitter in the game."

Quote:

» July 15, 1991: Seattle's Edgar Martinez just misses hitting for the cycle for the second game in a row. He stokes a single, double, and triple in a 5-1 win over the Yankees. On the 14th, he had two singles, a triple, and a home run against the Indians.

Quote:

» May 15, 1996: The Mariners spot the Yankees four runs, then hammer starter Jimmy Key and five other pitchers for 19 hits to win 10–5. Seven Mariners collect two or more hits, and Edgar Martinez drives in four runs.

A brief history...

Holy cow shit, look at his stats against Cleveland and Minnesota. Edgar Martinez is a HOFer.

Bill Mueller (2004 off Rivera)

Glad you mentioned Billy... he's my favorite player.

He had to huge hits off Rivera including the walk off homer in the Tek-Arod game and the tying RBI hit in game 4 of the ALCS.
