The Milwaukee Brewers are trading slugger Carlos Lee to the Texas Rangers as part of a multi-player deal, ESPN.com learned Friday.

The Brewers are sending Lee, minor-league outfield prospect Nelson Cruz and a player to be named later to the Rangers for relief pitcher Francisco Cordero and outfielders Kevin Mench and Laynce Nix.

Both teams are checking for any medical issues before consummating the deal.

The Rangers are currently two games behind the Athletics in the American League West.

A good trade for both teams.

I was just watching SportsCenter and I saw this on the bottom line. I am shocked, but a pretty even trade for both teams.

At least Soriano is still on the market

what are you talking about i said he wouldn't go to the yankees

anyways im loving this trade. There is no way I want my team spending 50-60 mil on a guy who won't chase down balls in Left Field.

I don't think this is a great trade for the Brewers. Lee is a well known awesome slugger in baseball. The Brewers could've gotten some young arms other than Cordero, maybe even someone like Danks and Mench for Lee.

Lol, uhhh, we haven't had any interest at all since the off season. Then we got Glaus, and we lost all interest. Anyways, if the Rangers also got Nelson Cruz from the Brewers then they definetely got a steal.

both teams got a steal, kind of i guess. The rangers got cruz who has good potential, and lee who is jusyt good. The brewers got 3 established players that will put up average numbers on an average year..

Well, this means the Brewers are giving up on the season. They pick up a closer who should repace Turnbow. Nix and Mench should be good outfielders for the Brewers. The Rangers get Lee who is doing great this year. The only problem is he might not be with them next year if he signs somewhere else. So the Rangers if they make the playoffs this year and resign him get the better deal, else wise the Brewers did better.
