Uh oh, just wait till CarlFan sees that. :P

The Rays have a lot of talent, actually. Carawford, Kazmir, Upton, Young... The list goes on. They'll be good in a couple of years.

Most of it is hitting and not pitching though. Kazmir isn't always going to win, and when he doesn't, it's hard to see any other pitcher being much of a stopper.

Right. I didn't want to mention that because it kinda ruins my point, haha. The Rays' best bet is to trade some of their surplus of hitting talent for some pitching. If they pull the right strings, they'll have an overall good club.

Hm.. I'd actually like to see a year in which all of the teams that aren't expected to contend end up contending one year.

Royals
D-Rays
Seattle

Pirates
Rockies
Marlins/Nats

If they had Talent why could they play well in the major leagues? Remember minor league ball is a whole differant ballgame than in the majors. When you come into the majors from AA or AAA you better be ready to step up cause pitchers would blow u away and hitters will whack you and you could be in for a long day.

Just give them a few years, and they will start to do better.

We have so much talent, they have proved it in the minor leagues, let's see, if we have players that have put up better numbers in the minor leagues then the other players in the minor leagues, don't you think they will be better than those players when the time comes when they are both up in the major leagues?

No.

Here's a hint.

It doesn't necessarily mean that that franchise originated in that current city.

Alright. The answer is San Francisco.

Cities that still don't have a WS.

San Francisco
Houston
Seattle
San Diego
Arlington
Denver
Tampa

BTW, Washington has appeared and won the WS once. That was in 1924 when they were the Senators.

Yeah, but the Devil Rays stand no chance with the Yankees and Red Sox and Blue Jays, and once Peter Angelos goes the Orioles could be good again too.

Look at the standings, bro. We're only 3.5 games out of first place (amazing). I'd call that contending.

We will be serious contenders soon. I think we have the second youngest team in the Major Leagues, take out Jaime Moyer and we're probably the youngest. In one or two years, we have potential all-stars up the middle: SS Yuniesky Betancourt (D wiz, great bat as well), 2B Jose Lopez (All-Star this year), C Kenji Johjima and soon Jeff Clement (Clement is a potential 35 homerun guy), and Adam Jones (Clement and Jones are our number one and two prospects). Then there's Ichiro and Ibanez who we still have long term.

:)

I'm pretty sure minor league games dont account to the major league record. The D-rays have tons of good young players in their system, just not a good overall team in the majors.

That's nice, but the A's having a nice farm system doesn't change the fact that the D-rays still have talent in the minor leagues.

I take it that Steveox hates the Rays because his team isn't that much better than TB. In other words, the Orioles are barely out of the beasement nowadays.

So will the Devil Rays, you have no evidence saying the Orioles will be better than the Devil Rays either.
