No way is jeter on the bench, he is second in AVG and the second most clutch hitter in baseball and his defense is better than Tejadas. Mauer should start over V-Mart too. V-Mart can't throw anyone out when they advance |

Jeter has terrible range. He's not a good defensive SS. EDIT: Looking at RF and Zone, Tejada and Jeter are about the same. |

Web gems doesn't make a player defensively good. Truth is, everyone has some web gems. Range is the best thing to evaluate Short Stops on. His isn't bad, but he's no better than Miguel Tejada defensively. He's a totally overrated Short Stop. "RF: Range Factor ((PO + A) * 9 divided by innings) ZR: Zone rating. The percentage of balls fielded by a player in his typical defensive "zone," as measured by STATS, Inc." |

http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/stats/ml...3173&statType=1 Look at Tejada, they are just about the same. Then you include the web gems that Jeter makes and Tejada doesn't, then Jeter is the 2nd best clutch hitter in the game, and that is already enough to say Jeter is the best. Then, if you want to, you could say he is a better leader than Tejada. |

Come on, that's typical Yankee fan. There's no evidence to back up that statement. Jeter makes web gems and Tejada doesn't? Really, that's new to me. Jeter is a clutch hitter and Tejada isn't? Where's the proof... |
