Another consideration even my fellow mariners fan and personal known friend Reno forgot to mention would be Rafeal Soriano. He doesnt warrant the award by no means, Schilling is way ahead, but the guy has come back and proved that he is still dominant. |

He goes from being the NL's best shortstop to playing horrible in Boston - the down year offensively, and a Soriano-like defensive effort. You should know all about that. This year, in Atlanta, he's shown his defense has been great in spurts, and fairly above average overall, and his .314/.384/.462 clips look pretty good, too, as opposed to his .276/.335/.385 peformance last year. BTW, Major League Baseball agrees with me: Renteria receives nomination for Comeback Player of the Year |

I just voted for Nomar and Schill. Schill came back from a terrible, injury plagued, bullpen season, and Nomar is coming back from countless injuries for his first full season in a long while. |

I would have voted for Nomar.. But this season has been injury-plagued, too. |

Nomar is still injured. He has only played 79 of 111 Beltran has out performed him drastically, except for AVG. Look at the numbers people!!!!! They has very similar years last season only thing is beltran played more games!! Just look it up you will be suprised! |

I've commented on suggestions, but I don't think I've actually given an answer yet.. My vote would be.. AL - Jim Thome NL - Carlos Beltran When you look at the numbers, and consider the Comeback PoY Award as not requirng an injury in the previous year (in Beltran's case), there's really no question about either pick. |

Beltran- 3 for 4, three doubles, 1 run scored. Nomar- Didn't start again. Last years numbers: Nomar- 62 games, 65 hits, 9 homeruns, 30 rbi's, .283 avg Beltran- 151 GAMES , 107 hits, 16 homeruns, 78 rbi's, .266 avg Look at how beltran played almost three times as many games as nomar and has only slightly better stats!! THIS YEAR: Nomar- 79 games, 60 runs, 102 hits, 12 homeruns, 57 rbi's, .327 avg. Beltran- 100 games, 85 runs, 107 Hits, 33 homeruns!, 97 RBIS!, .286 avg. Almost every hit Beltran has had has knocked in a run!! Nomar has been excellent thisyear. I am a big Nomar fan but i really thin Carlos deserves this nod. The dogers have been good so far with out him. Where would the Metropolitans be with out Carlos? VOTE CARLOS!!! |

I don't think there is anyone out there crazy enough to think that Nomar has been better than Beltran this year.. Instead, its the belief that the Comback PoY should go to a guy that has come back from injury. That's not the case, but some people tend to sway their votes that way.. I don't know, though. Some also think that Schilling deserves it in the AL, though Thome, coming off of injuries, has completely blown Schilling out of the water this season. |
