You can run to church all you want, but if you're raising hell the other 6 days of the week I really don't think it matters. If you don't have God in your heart, no building will put Him there. And boys, please please keep jerking.....I got a chill up my spine just thinking of hundreds and hundreds of little Oeshs, Naths, and THUs running around this planet.....sheesh.... |

It doesn't. It's part of the Catholic church that was made up by the priests/monks/pope/whomever. Just like a lot of the religion, really. The commandment of remembering the Sabbath and keeping it holy could be construed as a demand to go to church, but there is nothing delineating exactly what remembering and keeping holy are. |

James Dobson, one of the leaders of the religious right wing, has commented that 99% of men masturbate and that the other 1% have been known to lie. While the dogma may prohibit certain things, at some point the reality of compliance must be considered. I don't think that any branch of Christianity was intended as a way to condemn 99% of its followers to damnation, though. |

Exactly. For example, consider what Martin Luther preached back in the 15th century or so: He stated that one should only follow the teachings of the Bible, and not those of the Catholic Church. |

I can outline a few things, but I only have a second now. Jesus said "Unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink of His blood, you shall not have life within you" By not going to Church, you are depriving yourself of the Body of Christ, a requirement for salvation. |
| Jesus built one Church. He also said to follow Him. If you are not in His Church, you aren't following very well. | |

Yes that means accpeting him as your savior and doing communion. God never said "If you dont' go to church I am sending you to hell" its just does't work that way. As long as you belive the Jesus died for you sins and you have accpeted him as your savior, then your going to go to heaven. Should you worship God every sunday yes, does it have to be at church...no. |

I had thought that transubstantiation wasn't a Catholic belief until Pope Innocent III made it such in 1215, and that it wasn't fully accepted until the Council of Trent thought it important enough to rule on in 1545-1563. |

I don't go to church some sundays because I don't understand what the preist is trying to say. The internet is a lot easeir to learn about god than church is. |

Yeah, they realized I was the true son of God and they didn't want the rest of the religious world to know. |

Well then to be a good Catholic, I guess you just have to believe that everyone before the 1200's all were banished to hell. |

Then I'm a sinner. I ain't been to church in over a year. I don't need to listen to some priest to tell me how to live. I know right from wrong. I can give thanks to God on my own time. I don't see a reason to go to church. |

I'm no theologist, but it seems to me that Catholicism, and Christianity in general, ruined it. They created this religon where going to a building and worshiping a priest is more important than the scripture. If you read the Bible, and live it that should be good enough right? No. You're supposed to confess and confirm and commit and blahddy blah blah blah. |
