Well they have three contenders and the Marlins and Nationals could make some noise but nothing more. I like the Braves rotation out of the big three. Smoltz and Hudson are overlooked are a good duo. They have sonme solid guys in Glavine and James then Hampton, Jurrens and Reyes. I love the depth there. They have prospects to make deadline deals as well, like they did last year with Dotel and Tex. They have a solid line-up. Might need a left fielder or a 3B mid season. Mets have a great team but I'm just not sold on their team yet. I love the Phillies to win the divsion, but I can see the Braves or Mets winning as well. I'm just a homer to a lot of the Phillies players. |

Mets unless they die at the end of the season again. |
![]() Hanley Ramirez doesn't make errors--the ball is just afraid of him. Shadez was the first man to walk on the moon... with sunglasses on. In rookie ball, he drove a ball to deep centerfield, only to be informed he had been traded on his way to first base. So, he sprinted to the wall and robbed himself of a homerun. He can turn a man to stone just by looking at him without his shades. Was pointed at when Babe Ruth supposedly called his shot. The June 24th game between the Marlins and Yankees was not, in fact, called by rain as was previously reported. Hanley had plans. And by plans we mean a date. With a girl. A babe if you will.

I don't think any team has a huge advantage over the others... but I guess if I had to choose it would be the Mets... it's wide open between the 3 though. |

Both the Mets and the Braves have better pitching then the Phillies. The Mets probably have the best rotation in the East, while the Phillies have the best lineup by a tad. Braves bullpen > Mets Bullpen > Phillies bullpen. So, yeah, it's fairly even. |

Right now the most evened out team is the Mets, but the problem with them is they can't trade F-Mart, so the best they can add in a deadline deal is something like a Scott Hattenberg, while the Braves and Phillies can add a Joe Nathan, Carlos Lee or Roy Oswalt while keeping their current team. I think the Braves have the best rotation 1 to 5 as well. Johan is good but he can't carry a rotation, look at the twins last year. |

Dude, the Phillies can't add anything...their farm absolutely blows, just as bad as the Mets. And Johan is 'good'? Get off the fucking homer train. He's one, if not the best pitcher in baseball. The Twins had no offense last year. Johan with Mets = easily best pitcher in NL, probably AL as well. |

In Spring Training? Oh my God, a bunch of reserves and a pitcher who hasn't pitched since last year didn't do fantastic. Yes, let's yell. I'm glad you're not the manager of any team. |

You don't think they're working? Working and yelling at players for a freaking Spring Training loss are two different things...oh, and without Bedard and Tejada, you guys might win 55-60 games. |

No the Phillies have more depth in their farm than the Mets, tho none of them have Martinez's ceiling, but their depth could help add a good pitcher. |

Do you remember that 1989 season? Orioles had Young stars nobody has ever heard of? and they HELD 1ST PLACE FOR OVER 100 GAMES until Jays ruined their season in the last game of season. You better know who they are,,because IF YOU DONT O'S COULD STEAM ROLL OVER EVERYONE!! |

Only a tad more depth. Carrasco, Cardenas (who I don't like), and Savery are pretty good. The Mets have a bit of depth in Rustich and Niese, both who have taken a step forward this Spring. Possibly a Joe Blanton type pitcher....I don't see them getting much more. |
