Big Sloppi probably went to MacDonalds and ordered 40,000 double cheeseburgers.

I don't even know where to begin. Every single post you have made in this thread is (IMHO) a complete crock of shit, and you know it.

When the MLB Executives first broached the idea of playing an opening series in Japan to both clubs, neither team's players initially wanted to go; however, MLB made some concessions just to get them to go. After the players agreed, MLB then turned around and reneged on most (if not all) of the terms of the agreement. That is the one reason why the players chose not to play today's game (and subsequently not to board the plane) until a resolution was made.

Any player that purposely sucks to get traded shouldn't be awarded MVP, no matter what he does for his new team.

It's not about the couple bucks. First of all, coaches aren't getting payed 10 million a year. 40k is a lot of money. Also, MLB promised them the money. They can't just take that away and expect them to go play. That's just like telling someone theyll give you a million bucks to cut off your dick and then when you do it, theyre like LOL JAYKAY.

Okay not really, but you get what im trying to say.

The coaches may not make the same amount of money as the players now, but come on. How many coaches are former players?

Dave Magadan: paid $8.5 million across his MLB career

Terry Francona: I don't have full salary info on him, but you don't think he's getting paid a shit ton as their manager? You don't think he made at least a couple million as a player?

Brad Mills: another former player, probably has made a good chunk of change as a player.

Luis Alicea: made nearly $7 million as a player.

John Farrell: made at least a million as a player, likely matched it as a coach and exec.

These guys, even as coaches, are making a couple hundred grand a year. The $40,000 really isn't that much for them. It's more money than I'll see in a year any time soon.

The trainers, I can understand needing money. They get decent pay compared to the average Joe, but nothing compared to players and coaches. But still, $20,000 is more than enough of a stipend for a two-game trip to Japan.

But when you're currently making a couple hundred grand and are a multi-millionaire like at least four members of the coaching staff, are you really going to complain about getting "only" $20K versus the players' $40K?

Get real. Get over it.

When Celebrities promise to appear when they sign an agreement that youll attend they must keep that promise or theyre subjected a lawsuit. But if the Red Sox did boycott getting on that flight commisoner selig can give each player a big fine. And not only that it would make bad relations between US & Japan politicaly anhd Japan PM might get mad and get even with US by cutting off all US Flights going into Tokyo and ask the US Military to leave.
