The Jays. If Sheets is healthy, Brewers have a really good one. And the Dodgers one is nasty.

With the injuries to the Angels (Lackey, Escobar) and the Red Sox (Beckett, Schilling), I'd have to see the Blue Jays are probably #1 at this point.

Lol @ the Jays.

Santana > Halladay
Martinez < Burnett (I'm giving you this one)
Maine > McGowan
Perez > Marcum
Duque > Litch

You're "giving us" Martinez > Burnett? Burnett's worse case scenario is Pedro's best case scenario. Orlando will give you 80-120 innings so Litsch > Hernandez. McGowan > Maine. I'll give you Perez > Marcum.

Santana > Halladay
Martinez < Burnett
Maine < McGowan
Perez > Marcum
Hernandez < Litsch

Oh dam, yea forgot about the Mets. I'd say their top 5.

Santana > Halladay
Martinez < Burnett
Maine < McGowan (I'm taking this one)
Perez > Marcum (Perez is a nutcase, and I don't like him to repeat, but we'll see)
Duque < Litch (He'll make 20-25 starts, maybe less)

yeah Mets>>>>>Jays
hmmm.. The Mets I see
Santana: 3.00 ERA
Pedro: 3.50 ERA
Perez: 4.00 ERA
Maine: 4.15 ERA
Hernandez: 4.30 ERA

don't sleep on the Braves

Smoltz: 3.30 ERA
Hudson: 3.50 ERA
Hampton: 3.75 ERA
Jurrjens: 4.20 ERA
James: 4.40 ERA

though we're gonna have Glavine with a 4.60 ERA in there <_<

Why not? Litsch is pretty solid, and he might have a higher ERA than Hernandez, but I'll take the possible 5-10 extra starts. And I don't see Litsch having an ERA higher than 4.50.

Dude, Hernandez is going to top out at 120 innings this year. Think of it as Hernandez/Sosa < Litsch. If they both pitched the same amount of innings I'd give the nod to Hernandez, but Litsch will bring an ERA in the low 4's over the course of 150+ innings.

Litsch will have an ERA higher than 4.40, Hernandez will be at 4.30, and Sosa isn't that much worse than Litsch...

And you'll "give me" Perez over Marcum? Perez destroys Marcum. Perez is pitching in the FOUR spot this year. That could be 17-19 wins. And it's a contract year. I'd take Maine over McGowan any day of the week. Maine has the chance for 20 wins this year. He was in the 2 spot last year, now he's a 3. That's a big plus for him. And if you've seen him in ST so far, he looks like he's worked a ton on his off speed stuff and is looking dominant.

Burnett, best case scenario maybe gets 15 wins this year. Martinez can rack up 15 with our offense, easy. Burnett has great stuff, but can he actually stay healthy? Pedro is 100% healthy, throwing a sick changeup/curveball offspeed combo.

I expect 15 wins from Pedro with a 3.45-3.75 ERA with 190+ Ks. Burnett is younger and is more of a given, so I gave you him. Take it.

Oh, and Hernandez is hands down the best 5 in the league. He was our ace at times last year...Litsch struck out 50 in 116 IP. He's a flash in the pan.

We're discussing best rotation here... who the fuck cares how many wins Perez and Maine will rack up? Beckett had more wins than anyone in baseball last year, I guess he's the best pitcher ever eh?

By the way:

20 wins from Santana
15 wins from Martinez
20 wins from Maine
18 wins from Perez

= 73 wins, which will NEVER happen.

Perez destroys Marcum? Perez is the posterboy of uncertainty. I'll never trust the guy till he throws 2 years of consistent ball. His performance fluctuates year to year, and some of the projections I have seen of him have him in the ERA of around mid-4's.

Marcum was throwing shutouts till the 6th. His arm was tired because he never started a full year before. He'll be much better conditioned this year, and durability shouldn't be a prob.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAIN OVER MCGOWAN?? AND EVEN MORE YOU SAID ANY DAY

But seriously, I don't even wanna argue this. McGowan>Maine, but hey if you want me to elaborate, I'll be glad to. And this is coming from a guy who owns Maine in a keeper league, and like Maine to repeat this year, maybe a bit higher ERA.

And dude, any arguements between Pedro having a better chance at throwing more starts than Burnett is gonna go no where. Oh and AJ is pitching in a "contract" year. And lol you don't have to give us AJ>Pedro, AJ already took it by a mile.

And yea, prepare for a dissapointment if your expecting Pedro to pull those numbers off(mainly 190K's, since he won't even pitch 190 innings).

Yes because every pitcher needs to strikeout guys to be considered decent/good right? Carmona had a low 3's ERA, but he didn't K too much guys, so I guess he's a flash in the pan?
