I'd only give it to a reliever if they pitched over 100 innings and had an ERA under 1, with other dominant K numbers. And there's no deserving starter. I don't care what role it is either, it could even be a set up man, saves are retarded. |

Yeah I agree, the Cy Young should always go to a starter unless there is ridiculous circumstances. Oh, and K-Rod getting mentioned for Cy Young because he might get 60 saves is laughable. Have you seen his peripheral stats? They're pretty bad. You shouldn't be given an award because your team wins like 70 close games and close 60 of them. |

3 pages pass and all I can gather from this thread is the collective cock sucking of halladay, mo and cliff lee when none of them are as deserving up to this point as justin duchscherer. his ERA clearly won't stay under 2 but if the thread is to appoint awards based on the first half of the season then I don't see how you could pick anyone else oh and for the notion that mo should win cy young...hilarious stuff THU. he wouldn't even grace your top 10 if he was wearing something other than those pinstripes and that pretty NYY cap. |

![]() Hanley Ramirez doesn't make errors--the ball is just afraid of him. Shadez was the first man to walk on the moon... with sunglasses on. In rookie ball, he drove a ball to deep centerfield, only to be informed he had been traded on his way to first base. So, he sprinted to the wall and robbed himself of a homerun. He can turn a man to stone just by looking at him without his shades. Was pointed at when Babe Ruth supposedly called his shot. The June 24th game between the Marlins and Yankees was not, in fact, called by rain as was previously reported. Hanley had plans. And by plans we mean a date. With a girl. A babe if you will.

I got into this a little late, but.. AL MVP: Ian Kinsler, I guess. Josh Hamilton is a top 6 player in the AL right now, but his RBI numbers are bringing him a lot more attention than he should be getting. Look at the guys hitting in front of him. A replacement player would have like 55 RBI in that spot. I totally made that number up. Alex Rodriguez is about 100 PA's from being the easy choice. AL Cy Young: Roy Halladay. I just don't like weird seasons like the one Cliff Lee is having right now, and Halladay has been nearly as good as Duchscherer, but for like, 40 more innings. AL RoY: Evan Longoria. NL MVP: Lance Berkman. Offense in the NL is awesome. Any of Chipper, Pujols, Hanley, Utley, and probably other people I'm forgetting would be the best hitter in the AL right now if they were in that league. That's hypothetical and weird though. Anyway, Berkman is awesome. NL Cy Young: Tim Linecum. Volquez and Sheets are good people, but Tim Lincecum is awesome people. I just like him going forward, and he K's a lot of people, and his back does weird things in his delivery, and his teeth are funny to look at. With all three guys being so close in comparison, I think those things are fair points of judgement. NL RoY: Geovany Soto. His VORP is twice as high as any other NL rookie's. And he shares a name with one of the big boss guys on the original Pokemon Red/Blue games. |

I would have Kinsler, Sizemore, or A-Rod over Hamilton for AL MVP. but I don't think anyone has mentioned Sizemore or A-Rod. |

As it is, he would probably be my third choice, behind Kinsler and Sizemore. I give Kinsler the slight nod because of position, but that's a pretty slim margin. They're both at prime defensive positions, but the offensive output coming from second jumps out a little more. |
