Dodgers made out like kings in this deal. Manny got what he wanted. Red Sox gave up prospects in this deal....paid manny's salary and of course gave up manny. I think they drew the small stick in this deal. |

I viewed giving up manny as a positive. he just wouldve been a negative the rest of the year on the team. true the dodgers didnt give up much. the pirates got decent prospects. |

Eh. I'm as happy as I could be right after my favorite player ever leaves my favorite team. Bay is awesome. The Sox have traded Manny and not really lost any value in left. Hansen and Moss are nice, but very expendable, and I'm ok with this. If money was too big of an issue, I'd be pretty upset about the cash we're eating, but that's the beauty of liking a team that spends money. Good deal for everyone involved. |

Red Sox are fucking stupid for this, They really didn't upgrade THAT much in this deal, and they gave up specs. They just felt like they needed to trade him because of his personallity. I don't agree with that. Jason Bay lucked out tho. |

So... Dodgers give: Andy LaRoche, Bryan Morris Dodgers get: Manny Ramirez Red Sox give: Manny Ramirez, Craig Hansen, Brandon Moss, cash Red Sox get: Jason Bay Pirates give: Jason Bay Pirates get: Andy LaRoche, Bryan Morris, Craig Hansen, Brandon Moss Based upon value, Pirates won, Dodgers stayed the same, Red Sox lost. But considering the abundance of 3B prospects the Pirates have, it's kinda hard to really consider them winners. |

The Pirates actually got some value in the past 2 trades. Traded Nady, Marte, and Bay for: D McCutchen, Tabata, Ohlendwarf, Karstens, LaRoche, Morris, Hansen, and Moss. I'm not sold on Moss or Hansen and I haven't heard much of Morris. Karstens is a AAAA player and Ohlendorf needs to develop secondary pitches. Tabata has upside but has a lot of problems off the field (also more suspensions than homeruns). |

The Soxs did what they needed to do in getting rid of Manny. Now the question is whether or not Bay can deal with the presure of "Filling" Mannys shoes and protecting Papi. At least the Pirates vaule for Bay. Manny give the Dodgers the bat they have need the past couple of seasons and should make them the favorites to win the West. |

theo did good for the circumstances, EVERYONE in the league knew that we were desperate to get rid of manny and he wouldnt try for the rest of the year with us, and theo still managed to get a very good player out of the deal, very good trade. |

Jason Bay is a nice player, but you're talking about one of the greatest, and one of the biggest clutch performers of our generation...Jason Bay is a total step down..and the Sox are paying Manny to go away. Sounds like a very good deal for Boston. |

Manny's 36 years old...Bay is 29.... Manny being one of the greatest hitters of our generation is a true statement, but irrelevant, because he's past his prime. |

Idk, I guess. I mean, Manny was having a down year and was still hittin .300 with 20 hr's...and that was with him also just not being happy and all this other shit going on...so idk if it's manny being aging, or he just was really getting pissed at the red sox and therefore his lack of production was a bit down. but still, I hope u red sox fans appreciate what you got with manny. I know as a yankee fan I won't miss him.   |

Iuno, I really think Manny could keep going for a while. It's not like he has a physically intensive life. He plays baseball, and when he's actually in the field he barely pushes himself past a jog. |

Bullshit! What was wrong with Tucker and Hermida if thats what the dodgers ened up giving the Pirates. This is why I hate the fucking trade deadline. |
![]() Hanley Ramirez doesn't make errors--the ball is just afraid of him. Shadez was the first man to walk on the moon... with sunglasses on. In rookie ball, he drove a ball to deep centerfield, only to be informed he had been traded on his way to first base. So, he sprinted to the wall and robbed himself of a homerun. He can turn a man to stone just by looking at him without his shades. Was pointed at when Babe Ruth supposedly called his shot. The June 24th game between the Marlins and Yankees was not, in fact, called by rain as was previously reported. Hanley had plans. And by plans we mean a date. With a girl. A babe if you will.

According to Gammons you guys wouldn't give up Tucker and wanted 9 mil instead of the 7 mil Manny is owed. |

Screw them all anyway. I was pretty sure we were ok giving up Tucker since he was in the discussion basically the whole way through and I don't get us wanting the extra 2 mil. Fucking Dodgers had to get involved though. |
