People are starting to talk about Expansion again in baseball. Some prime locations are Maine(to divide up the Red Sox fans in NE), Brooklyn (to hurt the powerhouses of Yankees and Mets), Las Vagas and Portland. I think Portland or Vagas has to be done to make the AL West a 5 team division. Maine would be nice since theres no real team up there. It would hurt both the Yankees and Red Sox.

WTF??

Baseball doesn't need expansion. Baseball needs to rid itself of a few teams in the league. Not naming any in particular, but I'm sick and tired of seeing teams field the equivalent of a AAA Baseball team. Baseball needs to get rid of 2-4 teams, IMHO. Baseball was at its best when it each league had 8-10 teams. 14-16 teams in each league is too many, so much talent to spread, so you're bound to get about 5 teams that just flat out SUCK.

Maybe just move the Pirates to Brooklyn, Cards to Maine, Astros to Vegas, M's to Portland and Royals to Charlotte, NC.

In all likelihood, Portland and Vegas seem the to-be locations, but I think teams in Maine and Brooklyn would be cool. A team in Brooklyn again would just be sensational and a team in Maine kind of "divides" Redsox Nation and adds another team to the Northeast/Canada region.

You're joking right?

We have a brand new stadium and a good fan base for how bad our team is. Fuck that, we're not losing any more teams.

They'd definetly be better off moving a team or teams to those locations then just starting up new teams.

Hanley Ramirez doesn't make errors--the ball is just afraid of him.
Shadez was the first man to walk on the moon... with sunglasses on.
In rookie ball, he drove a ball to deep centerfield, only to be informed he had been traded on his way to first base. So, he sprinted to the wall and robbed himself of a homerun.
He can turn a man to stone just by looking at him without his shades.
Was pointed at when Babe Ruth supposedly called his shot.
The June 24th game between the Marlins and Yankees was not, in fact, called by rain as was previously reported. Hanley had plans. And by plans we mean a date. With a girl. A babe if you will.

You take to long to fly to, if it was portland it'd save them an hour.

I don't think expansion should be considered right now when the league won't even consider a balanced schedule.

Im in Favor of Minor League Expansion. Class AAAA.Make it a lot tougher to reach the Majors. Class AAAA should have all 32 teams playing against each other and the league should be called NAA North American League. Which includes cities in Canada and in Mexico.

Maine would be a terrible idea, low population, wouldn't get support either because fans aren't going to abandon teams they've rooted for, especially if it is a good, successful team, as both the Sox and Yankees are.
