First is to cash in on picks with Moose, Abreu, Pudge, Marte, Giambi and if Pettitte doesn't retire let him go back to the Astros.
Umm...you do know you have to offer these guys arbitration right? I think a lot of them will accept arbitration to stay with the Yanks.
Who would? only guy I could see would accept is Giambi.
Giambi, Mussina, Pettite, and Pudge would all accept arbitration. In arbitration you can't make anything less than 80% of your previous year's salary, so Giambi and Pudge would get a whole lot more money by accepting arbitration than going to free agency and getting a half assed deal.
Moose won't. He wants a two year deal, he's not going to get that from us. He wants to be closer to home too, he even said he might retire after this year around the all star break. Phillies should jump on him. Pudge won't since he doesn't want to be backup... Look at how he bitched in Detriot. Pettite all you have to do is go to him and say don't and he wouldn't. He's that type of person. Giambi would I think edited my post to say he might.
Moose and Giambi would both accept in a heartbeat IMO. I think this is Pettites last year, so he won't get you a pick either. Pudge is a toss up. He may not like being the backup, but he will make more money with the Yanks next year than any other offer he gets.
Moose worked hard this year, no way he takes a one year 11 million contract. He could get a 2year 24 million deal from the Phillies. Why would they, his kind of a hometown guy there, he can replace Moyer in the rotation. Hamels, Moose, Blanton, Eaton and Myers. Pretty good rotation. Moose could pitch better in the NL and the Phillies offense could help him out when he isn't good.
Lol not Eaton Carrasco could be in the rotation next year, but Kendrick would be in it over Eaton
Well they are paying him an awful lot to just sit around.

-Sign CC for 5 years @ 90 mil -Sign Sheets for 2 years @ 15 mil, with free passes to wonderland -Trade Vernon Wells+Yorheyman Chavez and Gustavo Chacin(if he's alive) for Josh Hamilton and Chris Davis giving them a solid OF in Texas and a ace pitcher and they like Wells. Wells and Young connection!
Now my next trade is a bit of a reach since of who it is, but I'll give my reasons as to why I think it could be done
-Trade for Hanley Ramierz and send them Brett Cecil, and I guess Kevin Ahrens and Scott Rolen. My reason for this trade is that I think Cecil is stronger than Hanley, and Rolen can beat him in a staring contest.
-Trade for V-Mart, Buying low, and give up Gregg Zaun and Lyle Overbay.
Hanley, Lind, Hamilton, Rios, , Davis, Snider, Hill, V-Mart, Jaysdude(playing 3B).
Halladay, CC, Sheets, Marcum, and McGowan.
Trade for JJ PUtz, buying slow, and give them M's Rod Barajas, selling high.
Putz-Ryan and AJ = dominant pen.
You can't be serious, can you?
does it really sound like he is being serious lol
Eheh... He's Canadian, god knows what he thinks he can get away with.
Yeah he was serious enough to say Canada had a big hand in WW2 so only God knows whats serious and not in his head.
Its a hard life when you can't detect who's being serious and who's not.

Canada was in WW2 and played a significant role, maybe not as significant to the US, but we did some key shit that really helped the Allies out.

This is an off-year for Jeter. Ever since he was hit on the wrist in mid-May he hasn't been the same.
He was doing worse before he got hit.

Had he not been hit, he would have been better than where he is now.

How about saying the hit really didn't affect him that much. He just happens not to be having that great of a season this year.

Well after he had been hit, he went in an 0-20 drought I believe. He just hasn't been the same since. Again, this is a down year for him but you do have to look back at that one hbp and think where he could be.

Something I learned today under the new CBA rules, you don't have to offer a Type A f/a arbitration to get the picks.

Im almost 100% posivite youre wrong on that. If a player signs before the arbitration deadline, then you will receive picks regardless. However, after that deadline passes, you must offer arbitration to receive the picks.

Jeter's picking it up though lately. I bet he'll finish around his career average.
