Is there some type of unwritten law agasint not sueing each other? I'm sitting here wondering how guys like Pedro, Farnsworth and Red Sox fans get away with beating players up? Farnsworth tackles people and punches them, Sexson throws his helmet and the entire Rays roster takes apart Coco but none of them are brought up on assault?

HAHA you're the biggest pussy in the world if you sue someone for beating your ass. Fuck that, they would be clowned on forever if they did this.

What if you really hurt someone though or even just knock a few teeth out with a punch?

I think that the player contracts may mention this kind of thing. Also notice how major brawls is extremely common in the NHL, yet people don't get sued. I believe their contracts state that fighting is kind of an inclusion to the sport.

I don't know if the leagues can prevent players from being arrested or sued if they fight in a game. After the infamous "Pedro vs. Zimmer" brawl in the 2003 ALCS, New York mayor Michael Bloomberg publicly said if that would have happened in Yankee Stadium, Martinez would have been arrested. Maybe it's kind of a "Don't do anything really serious and we'll leave you alone" thing.

Or he just wanted to pump up Yankee fans and cater to them to try to get some more votes next election.

And seriously, if you get someone arrested or sue them over a fight, you're a pansy and shouldn't show your face in public.

Agreed. Especially if you're an athlete. I can imagine Justin Morneau and C.C. Sabathia in suits in a courtroom. Pretty funny sight.

Absolutely, I don't think I could live with myself knowing that I had to settle shit with someone over a baseball fight in a courtroom. You have to be some kinda pansy ass to do shit like that. Not to mention the kind of shit you'd be putting up with from other players for the rest of your career; it's just not something you live down.
