I'll take stats that are 100% created by the player rather than stats the have a team influence. |

Anyways, I think Youk is a clearcut winner over Morneau. Youk has a wOBA of +56 above average, which is awesome and Morneau has a +20 wOBA above average, which is good but not great. Youk>Morneau. After looking at some numbers.....the MVP right now is between Youk, Quentin, A-rod. Youk has played the full year, but Quentin has been the best offensive player, while A-rod is in the middle of the important categories(2nd in HR, near 2nd in wOBA, etc.) My final vote would go to Quentin. He has the better RC/27, the best wOBA in the AL I think, and a WPA higher than Youk. |

Well everyone knows Quetnin was the most valuable but you really shouldn't win MVP while missing the last month of the season. |

I know but I think he was just that much better than Youk and should deserve it. Its not like it was his fault for getting injured |

It wasn't his fault....but I don't see how someone could be the most valuable player when they are on the DL when their team needs them the most. |

Alright first off, it was quentin's fault he got hurt. The SOB punched his bat and hit the wrong spot of his hand on the bat. And secondly, if Quentin hasn't missed every game since Sept. 2, no doubt we would probably have won this division. |

You just won the division a few minutes ago, you watching the game? Also, this whole business about injuries not being held against an MVP candidate is one of the more ridiculous things I've ever heard. |

This is all I saw, just great, though. Yankees are out of the playoffs, and Morneau rapes him statistically. |

I voted for Manny because I personally find it impossible to not vote for a guy who joins a borderline team, slugs .750 and boosts them into the playoffs. That's just me. |

Just seen this post, it's pretty much the runs a hitter contributes above a league average replacement level hitter divided by the number of runs needed to create another win above average. |

Youkilis: .315/.392/.573, 29 HR, 115 RBI, 56.9 VORP Morneau: .304/.376/.507, 23 HR, 129 RBI, 47.3 VORP Pedroia: .325/.375/.493, 17 HR, 83 RBI, 20 SB, 61.9 VORP I am going to be pissed as shit if Morneau wins. Youkilis has better numbers all around and Pedroia has a higher VORP as a 2B. |
