A-Rod .300/.390/.573 35 HR 102 RBI 18 SB 64.4 VORP (leading the AL)

I'd say it's between him and Youkilis.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I don't think Howard should be the NL MVP. He probably will, but a guy that's hitting .250ish should never be the MVP, I don't care how his power numbers look, not being able to get on base for the rest of the guys decreases your value. Pujols deserves it, playoff team or not he is the most valuable to his team.

It'd be kinda funny if Pujols wins it since he's the one who said that the MVP should be won by a player on a playoff team.

Well everyone knows Quetnin was the most valuable but you really shouldn't win MVP while missing the last month of the season.

Kind of like we all know Kinsler would have better numbers than Pedroia if he wouldn't have missed the last month either ;)

OT: Mauer Top 1

Kinsler is T-can.

get off Pedroia, he wouldn't even have been the best offensive 2nd baseman in the AL this year if Kinsler went down.

Twins with Mauer = Sniffing the playoffs
Twins without Mauer = Licking the cellar floor

Boston with Pedroia = Playoffs
Boston without Pedroia = Playoffs

I mean everyone should listen to Tim Kurkjen right?

I wouldn't say Boston without Pedroia = playoffs, he has one of the highest VORPs in the league.

With Mauer only 7 behind and Kinsler 9. Keep skewing your stats all you want. And hell, Kinsler is 9 behind while being over a Month behind Pedroia's stats.

[edit]and no this is not me voting for Kinsler btw, just saying Pedroia shouldn't be getting all the hype in the ESPN world.

What are you talking about GrinNsauce, VORP isn't a stat that is higher with more playing time that. That's why Chipper Jones is 3rd in the MLB.

Actually I'm really not all that sure so I'm going to leave some uncertainty in case someone comes and makes me look like an idiot.

Maybe but that's irrelevant because Kinsler would never get MVP consideration on a shitty team and missing the last month and a half of the season, which you have no idea how he woule have produced in. Hop off his meat.

This whole month has had Pedroia catching up to him. Even if he had a mediocre september, the only cats he'd be beating Kinsler would be AVG and 2Bs. Hop off Pedroia. And I already said I wasn't saying he should be MVP, just saying that Kinsler > Pedroia which in turn means if Kinsler shouldn't be MVP, Pedroia shouldn't either.

I say give the AL MVP to CC Sabathia in making the NL relevant once again.
