Yikes. Did I mutiny for nothing? Yet another crazy twist. The first thing I have to say is I'm so annoyed to be looking over at that Rotu tribe and seeing 4 people online. I'm the only one still awake from Maraamu! That's so frustrating. I want to strategize! I've spent all this time with these girls who wouldn't even talk game with me. Now I have to continue to play that way? Ugh. My biggest saving grace is General. Ironically, he could be my biggest downfall also. I was very aggressive with him already. Maybe I should've let him think he had to talk me into playing with him again. The worst possible scenario is that he and Neleh and Gina had something set in place before the tribes were formed. IF that happened, then I'm already toast. Ideally, General wants to bring me in and work against the girls. I had some good talks with Patricia, maybe she'll think she was on the outs and she'll jump in with me and the guys. Yes, the right play here is probably sit back and let people come to me. But this is me playing I'm much more comfortable running around making deals  I wonder if it was off-putting to General how fast I ran to him. Yet when you look at it he almost needs me. His worst fear was probably that this tribe was Maraamu vs Rotu. Now he knows he has me as an option. If everyone views me as an option then I'm set. If everyone views me as an option for everyone else then I might go home first. |

So, how would you compare this approach to your "Brendan" style that won our BANGKOK game earlier this year? |

Two things that I remember being very good at as Brendan: 1) Being online a lot. This is actually a huge part of playing well in these games. I haven't been as active as I was during last game and I wonder how much of an effect that's had on my performance. 2) Connecting with everyone. Last game I remember feeling like there were certain times I would get "in the zone" and be able to turn anyone into an ally with some slick words. I think I'm more paranoid this time around. Missing the first few days was rough. I keep having to worry about if there's things going on that I'm not aware of. I also have yet to feel a moment where I really "turn on" my social game and woo my competitors. |
