[align=center] I am admittedly playing it low key here (Loki? :V). Lower key than my usual style anyway. I kind of feel like I need to right now for a few reasons. First off, I just came out of what was a completely draining season of Stranded. I am sapped. While also playing a pretty fun dA game. I find I lean more and more to the dA style of playing lately. Fuck essays, just roll with it. Between that & RL busyness I need to slowplay it here for my sanity. Then there's the whole 50 players thing :lol: wtf Gaga, you're nuts. I can't even imagine. I physically cannot put the same kind of social effort in as I could on a tribe of eight. But along with that comes the bonus of kinda feeling like I don't even need to. This game is so big that it would actually hurt my chances to become a big character yet. All I need right now is to let people know I exist and that I'm not a tard or a recluse. Be a background face to most. All I'm gonna do is make sure everyone gets at least one PM from me, then after that I'll focus on the few key players that jump out. What is there, six hours till pick-em? I can manage that. Then there is the pick-em itself. I'll probably just go where Pepper goes tbh. Without knowing the format yet there's no point trying to set up some meticulous plan involving potential allies and enough fodder to survive a week of quint boots if that's worse case scenario. F25 by next weekend? I'd take it :V The engineer side to me is rolling the format around in my mind while I'm offline. 50 players. Five tribes of ten. Ten secret groups of five. Superhero powers activated at certain points. I'd be thinking some kind of challenge winners get the votes colo-hybrid kinda format if it wasn't for the promise in the ORGY thread that this will be less focused on winning power than most Seasons of Haus of Gaga. So maybe it is something more Survivor-ey? One tribe wins each night and four single boots? Would put us at F30 in five rounds. Look at me rambling on logistics already. Again, 50 players. It's just not worth it. I could try mapping out who loves who and who to avoid but how do you even begin to do that with 50 people to account for in a social web? Easier & more efficient to wait until we have more manageable amounts to deal with. The last reason I'm being so casual here is character's sake. it's been a while since I dedicated a game to character and Stark is perfect for a comeback. Iron Man & Tony Stark are so pivotal and to the forefront of the Marvel movieverse it's easy to forget his roots. The whole point is I'm just a man. Yes an incredibly successful, good-looking, genius (..billionaire, playboy, philanthropist..), cocky superhero.. but under all that such a flawed man. Born with a silver spoon, stubborn, self-centered, chauvinistic womanizer, egotistical, alcoholic, an arms dealer ffs. The movies make it out like Iron Man and protecting Murica came about hand in hand, but Iron Man spends years just protecting Stark Industries & his own interests before he was ever a "hero". "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart" is no big reveal when he's kind of a nice guy for the most part. So that's where I'm starting here too. Most of that is impossible to get across in a forum game but I can certainly aim for being a cocky, detached, alcoholic, bit-of-a-dick for now. I need to break him down in most people's minds so I can build him back up later. It will make a heroic arc all the more satisfying. Now, time to go do that PM thing x49.[/align] |

Whoops. Did that thing where I type up nine replies in word and then log in and send them all. Everyone gets feel special and first replied to, but then I get hit with nine re-replies in ten minutes time :/ That gives me ten minutes to type here at least. I like this tribe. A lot. I don't know wtf happened with Asteroid M & Counter-Earth but I call shenanigans. If I had to guess, there probably was a pre-arrangement of people who've been socially working it to all jump aboard early. Was it Johnny Storm said someone suggested it to him earlier? Maybe two beginner alliance tried to go for the same tribe. Then some people with loose ties to some of them jumped in. Then a few more wanted to see what the fuss was. Which translates as welcome to clusterfuck TCs and needing to be top of your game to escape the Spiderman phase of the game. Good luck. Then there's the other end of the scale with Connors & Co. :lol: That whole thing cracked me up completely. For a while I thought the whole thing was just Connors having a laugh, and even earlier in the day people talked about a "group" of people heading to Titan, my initial thought was are people just talking shit after seeing his signature?  But it's a lolsy tribe. To their credit they have at least two fodder boots and time to create more, but I expect they might rival Resevoir Dogs for losingest tribe in a Gaga game before the week is out. So also no thanks.Then there is us. The Goldilocks tribe as I said to Elektra. Not too heavy, not too light - just balanced like a motherfucker. My initial thoughts is how fucking awesome would it be to actually have the Avengers Assemble? but my other train of thought is that all of Spidey/MJ/Otto were good talker pre-shuffle, and they are linked and semi-linked to me too. I told MJ I liked Spidey, Otto told me Spidey said good things about me. Pepper liked Otto too. There was some fishing about whether a Pepper/Stark/MJ/Spidey double date could be a runner. That could become a thing very quickly. And Pepper missed the boat :/ I have to wonder if she waited till I picked here then went elsewhere. Her timing does fit that pattern, including the drop of PMs as I got a little clingy close to the deadline. Maybe. She'll survive though, and I will play it off how I never doubted her for a second further down the line. I was kinda hoping she'd be in my secret group (which also isn't terrible). Back to this tribe. That leaves Elektra, Johnny Storm & kinda Fury out of the loop if Jane is considered part of the Thor box-set. Outta these I really like Elektra. And while I find Fury hilarious I can already tell not everyone does. I'd rather see the back of Johnny Storm as it stands but that's a thought for tomorrow and about 50 more PMs. *preview page* Yup, there's a stack of simultaneous PMs. |

I feel like I missed quite a bit last night. Possibly the formation of an alliance that doesn't revolve around me. Last thing I read from Parker was him poking for Secret Group info. I log in today and every groups been figured out. I'll be coming out guns blazing in the challenge tonight, but even if I/we lose I think the votes will go Fury's way first, or even Johnny Storm's. I like Fury, quite a bit. But not so much that I'm going to put my neck out for him. He'll be gone in the first three boots of the tribe whether I do or not and if I did, I'd put myself into the bottom half here. So sorry Fury, but if the choice is your end or my reputation, that's no choice at all. |

My paranoia has passed. I'm thinking more now that whatever way this tribe shakes up we'll be looking at some twist of one of these (also for myself); Otto wants me, otto, cap, parker, MJ Cap wants me, Cap, Thor, Parker Johnny likes; me, Johnny, Elektra, Fury likes; me, Fury, Thor, Elektra, Cap Elektra likes me, Cap, Johnny, MJ, (Parker?) MJ likes me, Parker, Jane, Cap, Elektra (Otto?) I'm probably going to touch base harder with Parker and find out what the hell he wants and go with that. ** In other news everyone keeps calling capsicle Steve and I keep forgetting who the hell 'Steve' is :lol:

I think I need to confess before I start PMing for the round. I think I kind of love my secret group? Daredevil & Barton are a little weaker than the other two but neither are irredeemable. Reed has gone up a ton in my estimation since I don't have to actually PM him, and I've liked Banner from the first PM. He has that schtick down pat. I can't wait till he Hulks out <3 There's a lot of good schticks in the game actually. Off the top of my head, Logan, Summers, Thor, Banner & Richards, - hell most of this tribe, Cap, Parker, Thor & Johnny Storm. I am in Marvel fanboy heaven here. So now we got past the tricky first round I'm thinking this tribe is going to take one of a few shapes. One - Avengers Me / Cap / Spidey / Thor Two - Spidey & Friends Me / Spidey / MJ / Cap / ..Otto Three - Good Looking Cunts Me / Elektra / Johnny / Cap / ..Spidey Of course they all come with additionals. But what we do tomorrow will determine the core of the tribe. I think the safest play might be to try vote to stay ahead of the Arc Reactors. Two of them were played - the ones from Johnny's and Doc Ock's unsecret groups. Maybe we could do ourselves a favour and win at least once tomorrow. I do wish we'd all had to post in the main thread so we could gauge the other tribe's strength but from a single vantage point, I'll guess we're in with a shot of winning something. Four or five of us are decently quick and Cap probably is too when he's not phoning it in, judging by how well-oiled he is socially. Sooo, let's see here. Jane would probably be the easiest target although she's made a few inroads. I warned her earlier Nick was writing her name down since she would realise soon enough. She asked me who'd told him to do that. I told her he'd told me instead of pinning it on someone. Maybe a missed opportunity there but with no concrete idea of what is happening next it was a safety play. Her group still with an Arc means then that she could be well out of bounds. Between Johnny & Doc Ock? idk idk. I think if I could get Parker & MJ to cut their ties to Otto it would be the best for later set-ups and options. Johnny is kind of connected all-over-the-place while the Doc is focused on that one little area. In an ideal world then, Otto leaves at TC1 while Jane plays her reactor, followed by Jane leaving at TC2. Well in an ideal world we win two out of two and I get a shiny new suit but you follow my train of thought.. |
