Canon and Original Characters We at Marvel Utopia do not allow character or face claim doubles, please check the corresponding lists to see which characters and face claims are taken before you apply. If you do not play your canon for more than two week consecutive weeks your character will be moved to the character graveyard (for originals) or the Character Adoption forum (for canons), at that time you will lose your face claim, and canon character. If you should return later on, and the character and face claim are not being used you may pick them back up. Once your character is submitted and the application is approved, you may not edit the character under any circumstance. If you are going on vacation or have to be gone for an extended amount of time please post your leave of absence if you can in the proper forums. . NPC's Do not npc another typist's character under any circumstances without their permission. NPC's are allowed, however use discretion when creating and using them. IC Posts are prefered to contain at least two paragraphs of content. a paragraph is three to four sentences, there is some exception to this rule but during peak role playing hours you will be held to the standard. Do not insert yourself into other people's storylines without expressed permission. Expect everything you do to have some kind of reaction to it, every action has a equal and opposite reaction. Also, just because you know something Out of Character it does -not-mean you know it In Character. Please do not metagame. OOC If there is roleplay Present, take it to whisper or messenger.. no one likes being interupted in the middle of there fun. If you just entered the room.. Count to ten in your head and see if is a post before you start OOC. Outside links are permitted in the main room only when there is no role-play happening, please be tasteful when posting them. Trolls: No. Your IP and Passport will be recorded and you will be subseqently banned from all rooms that have members of management here within them. Harassment will not be tolerated, to any level. Harassment is defined as any comment made or conversation made, provoked, or encouraged to intentionally irritate another user within the chat. If a user is feeling they are being harassed they should take a log of the issue and then place the harassing user on /Ignore. Those responding to harassment with return comments will not be heeded, as it is only provoking the situation to continue. A full log including screen shots must be taken and sent in of the harassment for the Staff to take any action. If the Staff are present, they reserve the right to file harassment on behalf of another user if the conversation gets out of hand or becomes a disturbance to the other users within the room. No racial terms/comments/jokes. This will result in an automatic kick. Without exception there will be no racial comments, jokes, terms, or words used in any way, shape, or form in this chat. Period. Including, but not limited to, sexually 'racist' terms. Racism is not tolerated on any level. However it is understood that characters will be racist and their behavior will reflect such. Role Play racism, within reason, is acceptable. Leave the comments In Character, no substitutions. Any IC fights will be done in a courteous and fair manner with no OOC arguing. Any fight between two characters must be agreed upon by the two combatants prior to combat beginning, in whispers. Any disputes about In Character content must be discussed in whispers. There are no direct rules of fighting governing the chat, as such it is left to the responsibility to the players to police yourselves in the area of fighting. Be courteous and respectful to each other when engaging in any form of combat.You may ignore a fight if you were not asked prior to combat, just go to managment for assistance if needed. No posting of personal information of any kind. No personal information is to be posted publicly in the chat itself or in profiles, in any format. It is not the responsibility of staff to maintain the security of user's personal information and any personal information shared is at the user's discretion. Publicly sharing private information of another user, with or without their consent, is not allowed and can or will be dealt with as harassment and/or 'hacking' depending on the nature of how the information was obtained. Personal information includes but is not limited to: addresses (Street or P.O. Box), real names, phone numbers, e-mail, passwords, etc. (Displaying e-mails and your own personal information via the spaces available in profiles or in chat is done at the user's discretion, however do not give out any other person's information under any exception.) Arguing with the Owners/Staff over issues governing the sight is not allowed. The Staff are real people, have real world opinions, and are not restricted from sharing them. Arguing with Staff about politics, school work, etc. is fine. However, when the Staff are enforcing the rules, there is to be no arguing about the rules they are enforcing or the method they use. Any arguments are to be done in whispers or e-mails. Those believing a member of the Staff is preforming poorly should submit a log to the Abuse form for review. When instructed to do something by a member of Room Staff comply in a timely fashion and without question. If you feel you are being harassed and the staff member is abusing power, log the incident and report it as an abuse log. Please keep in mind that our staff members are just as human as you and we do have our weak moments at times. Lurking is strongly discouraged. Lurking is defined as being logged into the chat without being responsive, not paying attention, or being indefinitely Away From Keyboard (AFK). Those found lurking will be given a two prompts from Staff before being deemed as lurking and removed from the chat. Those that wish to just sit and watch may, however do not become unresponsive for extensive periods of time. Being kicked for lurking leaves no negative impact on you. Advertising We appreciate that people want to help out with the success of this community, however, no posting links in our room or our comm in other rooms. If you want friends to know about the room take it to whispers. No outside links of any kind while rp is in session. Any links to pornographic or inappropriate material will result in a 24 hour ban. Violation of Rules We have implimented an escalated punishment System, which is as follows Warning = Written, Delivered via whisper Kick = 1 Hr, not adheding to previous direction. Kick = 24 Hr, third time being warned about a repeated issue Ban - You will be banned after the third warning, if management decides to reach majority. We are using a three strike system, in the management forums any complaints or violation of rules will be kept when you accumulate three strikes against you a decision will be made whether or not to remove you from the room and for what length you are removed for.
