<div class="simpappdesc">Appearance</div>
Lithe and lean. Eustace doesn't have the build of a warrior nor the face of a god. Instead he is described as cold, gaunt and intimidating. With shoulder length brown hair and a weasily thin beard, Eustace isn't quite the heroic King that bards sing about in their songs. Those in the Kings presence often are quick to notice is cold, unsettling stare. He is well known for his flamboyant and expensive taste in clothing and can usually be seen adorned in a fine collection of jewels from around the world. Despite his weedy exterior, he has proven himself to be a worthy adversary on the battlefield.

<div class="simpappdesc">Personality</div>
Upon first meeting Eustace, he could appear to be easy going and friendly, however he has a dark side. He has been widely noted to be aggressive, pugnacious, and warlike. It is public knowledge that Eustace is greedy; prior to being King he robbed monasteries and stole money in order to pay his own debts. He seems to show no remorse in stealing from others and feels that he is rightfully entitled to the money. Eustace was knighted by his father and subsequently earned the respect of fellow knights and soldiers in those early years. His hunger for glory on the field of battle would often ignite great morale to those who served under him. His aggression on the battlefield would sometimes lead him to misjudge his opposition and become a cropper.
<p>
Jealousy is something that this King is plagued by, he cannot stand anybody to be in competition with him. In court the King will actively seek to belittle and embarrass those who he perceives to be a threat. Eustace manifests a great deal of bitterness after Henry II took the throne before him, since being crowned King himself, he has a great deal of insecurity and outwardly wants to appear like a competent and strong ruler. It is this insecurity that stops the King from being bad company, he has a reputation to being very generous in court, often laying on great feasts sparing no expense. The same can be said for public games, often opting to lay on grand spectacles in order to impress those in his company.
<p>
Eustace is without heir or wife although that is not to say that there aren't rumours of French women baring his children in Normandy. The King spent a great deal of time raising an army in order to take Henry II off the throne, he regarded that as being a far more important goal than getting married.

<div class="simpappdesc">Brief History</div>

Prince Eustace led his men into a “frustrated personal campaign without much apparent purpose other than to demonstrate his wrath”. He retreated to Cambridge, which was the nearest castle to his home, to raise funds.

Around 10 August 1153, Eustace brought his army to what was one of the greatest monasteries in England: Bury St. Edmunds. The monks welcomed him with great splendor and held a fine dinner for him. Prince Eustace, however, needed money to pay his soldiers. When the monks refused to hand over the sum he demanded, Eustace ordered his men to loot the monastery and lay waste to its lands.
