He huffs. "You and millions others. Their day will come. Time is the great equalizer."

"I've caused a lot of pain in my time and I'm not even on their level. How much pain are they going to be allowed to cause till their time does come?"

He asks sounding almost repentant but not quite like he gets the point of the order he is about to join.

Mark shrugs. "No use wondering. But all this talk bores me." He snuffs his pipe and rises on his axe. "You wanted to see how we train? Follow me." He heads for the door and heads inside.

Quill was interested in their training grounds. If nothing else he could use it in the off hours. He rose and followed behind the large bull.

As quill enters the building he hears the end of mark talking. "...So, anyone bored?"
a chuckle goes up around the room

"You know I'm always bored, why ask anymore?"
The minotaur who answered rises, leaning on a large morningstar.

"Again Chuck? Sure, why not. Blunted or sharp? Up to you."

"Lets go blunted, we are running short on medicines and such."

"works for me."

Upon agreeing, the rest of the minotaur start to stand, and then move the tables closer to the edge of the large room, making a clearing in the middle. It looks like they will just fight right here in front of everyone.

Quill joins the other Minotaur at the edge of the building as the two prepare. he more speaks to himself than the Minotaur beside him.

"So the mess hall doubles as the training field. Well that's space economics."

Quill doesn't seem to notice as he watches mark square off with this other combatant. This had all the feeling of escorting Rarity to the derby. Except perhaps if the derby were being held in the slums of Ponyberg. He wondered if there would he a referee and about the rules on gambling on such an event. But that would do him no good. he hadn't a bit to his name now and wasn't even sure if they used bits here. he just watched on trying to learn about their fighting style.

Mark and Chuck disappear into a back room for a bit before both return with wooden versions of their own weapons. Mark's a blunted wooden battleaxe, Chuck's a nubbed wooden mace.

"i just can't wait till we actually do something." Mark grumbles a bit, to an agreed mumble from the group. "But, least we still got eachother to beat the shit outta." He says with a chuckle. "Come chuck, meet my blade!" He roars, answered by Chuck with a

"I meet your blade Mark!"

Both minotaur stand opposite eachother in the middle of the floor, checking the weight of their replicas.

Quill makes a sudden realization He does not speak but the surprise is on his face.

"There is no referee. They are just going to beat each other savagely until some one goes down or gives up. I'm living among total savages."

He still found that he was watching and not looking away from the spectacle about to take place.

Quill can feel, more than actually see, Will's stare as he makes his realization. There is a smug look on his face, something that belies a deeper meaning.

At the same time both Mark and Chuck shake hands before the wooden clack of their handles meet and they back off, circling.

Quill caught the look at his core. He felt very uncomfortable but wouldn't dare move. He was rooted by the stare of the leader of the group and watched as the two made their opening ceremony. It was already more formal than he had expected it to be. It made him think of the combatants in a boxing match touching gloves before trying to beat each other unconscious.

Chuck struck first, but not with his mace. His hand darts out and reaches for Mark's axe.

Instead of preventing the grab, Mark charges forward while Chuck's hand is busy holding his axe. The resulting headbutt causes Chuck's eyes to cross.

Cheers and Jeers erupt from the crowded Minotaur. But even the jeers seem jovial.

It had all the sounds of a boxing match too but at least there wasn't beer being spilled and they weren't calling for blood and to throw a bum out of the ring first. he did have to give Mark credit for the ingenuity of the move though. It was very practical to go for a forgotten area rather than fight over the ax.

Chuck's grip on the axe loosened enough for Mark to pull it away, but Chuck was already swinging with his mac, solidly connecting with Mark's left arm with a painful sound. Without even missing a beat Mark kicks Chuck away, swinging low with his axe, aiming for Chuck's knees and clipping his shit as Chuck barely moves it out of the way. The strong blow rips the skin on Chuck's skin open, drawing first blood. There is but a slight pause from Mark as they meet eyes before the mighting continues.

Quill flinched at the shot to the arm and the clip to the shin. he was not much for the more brutal sports but he was here to watch. There was something not quite as brutal about it as he thought. They had paused and not just continued without a beat.

A silent word exchanged, Mark catches the incoming mace blow with his hand, causing a loud crunch as something breaks.

He howls as he strikes with the shaft of his axe, hitting Chuck right between the eyes, knocking him out cold.

He forgot his shock at the brutal fight and dared to ask a question

"Was that the mace shaft, or Marks arm? I couldn't really tell."

He asked to the one standing next to him.

"his hand." He says, pointing the the hand, the fingers laying limply.

The thought had not occurred to Quill. Hooves are harder than hands and the arm or wrist would break faster for a pony than the hoof would. Though it still made him flinch to look at.

"Is he going to be ok? That looks pretty damaging."
