It takes a muscle to fall in love

The cupcake minus its icing is a little less tasty than it would have been, but sketch still gets the delicious Sugarcube cupcake experience. The scintillating warm doughy cupcakey goodness fills his pony stomach. Sketch hears a scrabbling and a few satisfied squeaks from the ceiling, presumably from the strawberry fruitbat and any fruitbat kin it has. |

The cuckoo clock reads just past noon. The fruit bat nest gives no reply. Sketch has got a whole afternoon to kill before he can partay ![]() He notices one or two ponies flying around over Ponyville, but his cottage, being on the outskirts, isn't one of the most frequented places. In the distance he can hear the high pitched sound of foals playing (Sketch knows it is a non-school day). |

Sketch levitates his easel, walking outside to look at Sweet Apple Acres. "I think I have enough time to draw this." Sketch says, getting ready to start sketching. |

The spot, being quiet and also close to the famous Orchard, is an excellent one to sketch from. Soon the picturesque view of the barn takes shape on the easel before him. The way it rises above the treet-tops on the hill, magisterially commanding the village is particularly striking. As Sketch puts down his pencil the sun has slid across the sky to the West, heralding late afternoon - about 5 o'clock. |

As Sketch trots back to his house to deposit his things he notices a delicious bright pink Strawberry on the ground! |

"Where did that come from?" Sketch said, checking it to see if it really was a strawberry. "Seeing as my house has fruit bats, I really need to make sure." |

As Sketch peers closer at the Strawberry it turns towards him! Large pink wings spring from its sides which it attempts to flap, but Sketch notices that one of the wings falls limply to the little bat's side. The little creature makes a pitiful squeaking noise and it teeters on its itty clawed feet. A larger strawberry fruitbat lands beside it and holds the youngster protectively. Another fruitbat, incongruously smoking a small pipe, alites not too far away and gives Sketch a grateful look. |

Sketch smiles a bit at the scene, and has a sudden thought: "These fruitbats... I can't get rid of these guys... Rats are one thing, but there's something special about these fruitbats... They are a family. I can't just destroy it. I'm gonna have to tell Hayseed that the deal is off." Sketch internally monologues, before lowering himself to talk to the fruitbats. "How about I levitate you back to my house?" Sketch says, hoping the fruit bats understood him. Edited by TheCopyUniverse, 6 Jun 2014, 06:15 AM.

The fruitbats seem to understand the intention. The mother fruitbat who had been holding the infant, looks towards you imploringly and motions towards the infant's wing. |

Sketch takes a guess that he needs to do something about the limp wing. "I'm not completely sure if I understand you, but I'm guessing that you want me to take care of the wing first?" Sketch says, looking for a nod or a shake. |

The two fruitbats look uncertainly up at Sketch. The daddy fruitbat frowns and takes out a tiny dictionary before nodding. |

"Hmmm... hang on. I think I have something in my saddlebags." Sketch says. "I think I have some emergency supplies in here to deal with injuries. I will need to eventually find someone who can do more, though." Edited by TheCopyUniverse, 12 Jun 2014, 05:40 PM.

As Sketch rummages in his artist-pony saddlebags, he located little relevant to bandaging itty bats' wings. All he finds is selotape, string and other arts and crafts materials. In the distance the clip clopping noise familiar from town can be heard to intensify. Perhaps a pony, or ponies, is approaching? |

"Well so much for that." Sketch turns his head in the direction of the clip clopping, and, hoping somepony will notice, shouts, "Excuse me! I need some assistance over here!" |

The approaching stallion is the southern-speaking pony from the tool-stall. "O'hey dere! Pardner! Whaddya need!?" He replies with enthusiasm. As he sees the bats he nods knowingly and produces a fishing net from his unkempt saddlebags. |

The pony guffaws and slaps his thigh. "Hah! Good one! Ah knew you were a fun sort!" He giggles. After a moment he recovers and approaches the bats with the net. "C'mere lil critter, bats like you belong inn'er forest." He says, in a professional but not uncaring tone. |
