---Day 11, 4:20PM--- "So why do you need a job anyways?" "I assume he did it to gather information originally." Berserker scratches his head. "Well yeah, that was the plan. But now I have an apartment to keep up with." Saber blinks and turns her head to him. "What?" "My Master decided to just not sleep. At all. Anywhere. If he does sleep, he doesn't come to his hotel to do so. And he didn't pay for the hotel he summoned me in for more than a day." Saber claps slowly...I can't do that. I'm too much in shock from how terrible Berserker's master is. "So you're having...to pay for it?" "It's fairly important to have a base of operations." "Yeah I guess...but...Jeez..." "Goodness, I would have just killed my master by this point. Your tolerance renders you more a saint than a monster." "Maybe, but as terrible a person as he is, he's still perhaps the most powerful master." "Whom fights without his servant whenever he can. Saylest may be far beneath him in power or skill--" Ouch, my feelings. "But her willingness to cooperate and help in a fight is much more effective than your Master." Berserker relaxs back. I can't help but notice the chairs here are steel and cushioned, lucky for him. "That may be, but at this point he might be strong enough for that not to matter. His bloodlust is massive, and I'm not sure how but each time I manage to catch a glimpse of him he's become far more powerful. If I had to guess, one of his items is feeding him the souls of humans he's been killing by the dozens." "And you're just...fine with that?" "Not much choice. I don't even know where he is at any given time." "Wait what? But you called him yesterday." "No, I didn't. But I saw him around the destroyed pool area before you met you two. I assumed he wouldn't pass up the chance for the fight we were in as well." I was going to ask about Bushido Brown anyways, but I guess that clears up most of it. "So...how strong is he now anyways?" "Hard to say. Alondite was forced into a retreat, but nearly any servant could accomplish that." "Then gauge him. How close he is to taking you down?" "Hard to say without him hitting me first." "I suppose that's true, if unfortunate." "Either way, sounds like you don't like being with him as your Master..." "I'm afraid my answer is the same, Saylest. While perhaps incompetent, his raw power is the staggering for a human." "Even compared to..." I rethink everything I've collected so far. "Servant Cotton Eyes?" "Oh?" Berserker leans in closer. "Half troll, enhanced regeneration and reincarnation through his mother's magecraft. Hated by both trolls and humans for his dirty blood. But the real clue was the fact that supposably your noble phantasm is a joke...Do you even have one?" Berserker laughs, his outfit is...kind of screaming a little from the strain. "He does. It's just nothing significant." "So it's those magnetic bracelets that Cotton Eyes used, right?" Berserker chuckles a bit more. "I'll confess, you've got me. I am Cotton Eyes, but my noble phantasm isn't quite that useful. The bracelets are just a weapon." "Oh...Wait then what's your noble phantasm? The slab of gold you stole?" "Actually it's just blood alteration. Purifying my blood into a complete troll temporarily, granting a weaker body with more powerful regeneration." "That's...considerably mundane...for a noble phantasm." "And now you know why I call it a joke. But either way, well done, Detective Saylest." Berserker writes down something on a piece of paper. "This'll make it easier to stay in touch." It's a phone number... Saber is peering at it closely before turning back to Berserker. "How do you...even use a phone with those hands?" "How do your hands not get caught between the buttons?" That makes Saber's face brighten up with a open smile. "The way you deal with teasing makes me wonder if you're a sadist or a masochist." "Why can't I be both?" Servant Relationship+5: LV5(24/35) I turn my attention back to Berserker. "So, what about now? Maybe giving up his power for my brain is a fair trade?" "I'll admit you're a smart girl, but if I'm right he actually has the power to kill me once or twice in a fight." "Which means his blows are powerful, but not numerous." "Correct. He may actually be as physically powerful as I am in a fight." "Then...If we fight him...Can you stay out of it?" "In all likelihood, he'll make me stay out of it. If you can take him down, I'll call you to meet up to become your servant." "You mean for us to call you, right?" "Uh, no Saylest. Servants can sense when they've lost a connection to their master. We can even focus it to find where our master is actually." "Wait so that means..." "Correct. As long as I'm his servant, I can be used to track him down." Berserker turns to Saber though, who I hadn't even noticed orderer a strawberry cake to munch on. "I'm surprised you let her know that though. Do you feel confident?" "I'm back up to par and, although we're replacing my arsenal, the pieces lost won't help much in a battle of brute force. Likewise if Alondite had no success or opening to bind him, I doubt I would either. I am as equipped to face him now as ever, and Saylest will do fine." "Be aware he has a portion of my regeneration due to our connection." "That's fine. Saylest's life is actually bound to mine, so long as I can ensure her wounds are not absolutely fatal." "...Now that is very interesting. How did you manage that?" I talk for a few minutes about the Amoria family and how we used to be very familiar-based magi capable of destroying or linking to them easily. "There was a term for that in our era. Harmonists, those who could infuse themselves with nature." "In that case, it's possible I killed one of Saylest's ancestors. An interesting notion." "One that I don't really care about." Saber smiles at me and pats me on the head. "Well then, do you want to track him down now? Or wait for your arsenal?" "That choice rests with my master, though two days of inactivity and the accquisition of yet ANOTHER ally or two leave me wanting a good fight." "What, Lancer too?" "Actually, the Alondite Captain we met. He's permanently seduced. And he's causing an inward rebellion to spring out from their ranks." "Heil to Helen of Troy." "Oh better yet. Rider's master is ALSO almost entirely seduced already." "What your master lacks in power, she makes up for in sheer effectiveness it seems." "Either way, the choice is yours, Saylest. What shall we do?" ~Player Choice #23~ (It's time to hunt down Bushido Brown) (We'll wait for Saber's Arsenal) Poll Duration: 24 hours |
