---Day 11, 9:05PM--- I cast swift wind just in case I need to clear the area. "Saber, Release your Noble Phantasm." Rider's face puckers together, just watching Saber's hair. "Acknowledged...Ace" The air snaps in half with those words and Saber's hair flutters back as the flaming red washes over it. But it's always her eyes that impress me the most. Those eyes that finally gain that glint of serious determination. The ground quakes and Sphaede is caught mid-strike by Saber's sword roaring outward as it appears. The Ace of Hearts, magical but with enough sheer force to not matter against Sphaede's resistance to magic. It almost seems like a blast from a baseball bat made from atomic bombs as Saber's slash sends Sphaede flying away. "Ruby Red, huh? Kinda glowy." "Satisfied, Rider?" "Oh yeah, it's cool." "So, is this going to be good enough?" Saber cracks her neck and lifts the massive Ace of Hearts over her shoulder. "I think it'll do fine. Feel free to support if you want." "Okay seriously. How'd you get your hair like that?" "Says the one with a streak of solid black in his golden locks? Surely the three bears must not recognize you anymore." Sphaede stands up and charges again. The ground is giving way under her charge before it collapses on her entirely...And Caster's hand stops glowing...Oooooh, she can do that? "Your hair is literally glittering like a gem. Mine is atleast natural." Sphaede doesn't like being stuck in a mudhole, her head arches back and she lets out another roar of explosive building-destroying flames. "Then perhaps my mother was the Queen of Diamonds." The cloak appears and Saber endures the entirety of the flame while charging through it. The crash of the blade sends Sphaede out of the hole into the air, but even from here I can see she's missing an arm. "Where the hell is the ring exactly?" Saber launches upward and is knocked away by another burst of fire. "Her entire body, I would imagine, is the ring now." "Well isn't that something?" "Hey! Aren't you going to help!?" Saber is flipped into a building, and smashes the side of it to propel herself back to Sphaede. "And get in the way of that? No thank you." "I'm inclined to agree." "Nyah! Berserker! When did you get here!?" "I just got off my shift. It's hard not to notice the commotion. Also my Master is here as well." "That's...You're kidding, right?" "No, although I'm not sure exactly where." "Your connection to your master is oddly vague." "My Master is also oddly distant from his servant." Rider extends a hand toward Berserker as Sphaede bounces off the side of a building and whirls into Saber. Oh for crying out loud, if no one ELSE is going to help. "Get...Off her!" I toss the Brante Embreko with as much force as I can. It smashes into Sphaede, and a red flash crashes into the smoke that puffs away from her. Saber lands out of the smoke as Sphaede drops, barely more than a torso and a head cut in half. And yet in a few more seconds her limbs start to regeneration entirely. "You are growing weaker." "Aye, her body is taxing to smash against, and her own strength is not to be ignored." And then I notice there's a blonde-haired guy missing from our group. "...Where did Rider go?" "Most likely to his Master's side, knowing that another opponent is nearby." "Another opponent?...So that's why you're here?" "No, I'm here to enjoy the spectacle that has erupted amidst public eye. Though it's no longer visible from the north or east views anymore." "Lilian is being slow with that barrier..." "Then the other opponent is?" "My master is very near, though I cannot say how much so." "And not the only worry to be on your mind." "There is no one nearby." "Saylest, this voice..." "It's the blood magi from the church. Vladimir, I think his name was." "Vladimir?" Please don't point out how silly that name is. I was thinking the same myself. And worse we've even run into a Medusa during this war, but she didn't even have any powers to do with hair or snakes or turning things into stone. She was a damn wind-based magi. Blood starts spewing out of the nearby buildings. "...No...That isn't!" "The blood of those trying to stay safely in these devastated ruins, yes. Useless alive, they are a valueable resource in death. One to empower my own special servant." The blood flows out of the buildings and slams into Sphaede's corpse, I can't even make out her image anymore. "Damn. We took too long on this." "If we had hurried and finished it from the start, he wouldn't have gotten here in time." "She's back at her peak already. The blood is sustaining her." "Well...That's great. That makes one of us I suppose. How long will this blood sustain her?" "Hundreds of lives were lost to make this river of blood. If you intend to kill her over and over, it would take atleast dozens more times." "Then it comes down to doing enough damage without giving her time to regenerate properly?" "Or slowing that regeneration. At this rate, her entire body will completely heal it's own worth in blood every few minutes." "Now that sounds like a pain." "If we can find the blood magi, it'll stop healing her right?" Caster nods and Saber smiles. "Servant Berserker, shall we dance in this muddy water while our hunters find their game?" Berserker cracks his knuckles and I swear to god my ears almost gave out under the horrific sound. "I'm going to confess, I like this suit. Saylest will have to repay me for it." "Oh, such choices. I too quite enjoyed these pants. Though they're already in scorched tatters." "Very well." Berserker's sleeves burst off his arms, and the electricity glows around his arm bracers. "Saylest, we need you to hurry. Her raw power is absurd, we will not last that long if her own vitality is no longer an issue." "Most likely, it will destroy everything on the island if it is left unchecked." "Then the little witch is willing to help?" "I will assist Saylest. My magic is too weak to keep the two of your alive." "I hate to ask, but feel free to send Rider this way." "We'll be back soon. Just hold out." So it's come down to a race against time. This battle has shifted completely the opposite directly. Before it was about sheer damage, now it's become a race for us and a test of endurance for Saber and Berserker. I'm glad I used swift wind already, I grab Caster's hand and pull her as we slip forward.
