---Day 12, 6:15PM---
"Saylest, she's...Pffft!"
Saber broke my concentration and all the water from the luna whips fell on me having lost it's shape.
"...That...was my fault..."
"I respect your acknowledgement of that."
"Then stop snickering."
"No."
Lilian hands me a towel from the bathroom and I start drying off...Oh screw it.
"Alright. You two go...I'll be out in a minute."
Not like I don't have other dresses I brought with me.
Luckily, it's a very comfortable dress, with comes with the fact that it's easy to slip on and off for obvious reasons.
Well...The purple dress is wet...Guess I'll take the...emerald and black one.
I ended up calling Miri, but she never picked up. It'd be funny if she were in a fight with Lancer right after we were...
Then again if the blast destroyed so many buildings, it probably attracted a LOT of attention, so I guess that's actually possible.

"Oh I do like that dress much more."
"I have a red one too."
"No, that suits you better."
The cake shop owner looks to me as I sit down in the chair next to the couch.
"So, where do we start?"
"It might be better to ask what she knows, and we can just fill in the gaps from there."
"Right...So...How about your name?"
"It's Penkay Prei. I know it's a totally silly name, but hey that's life, right?"
"How energetic. So, what do you remember last?"
"...Nothing bad is gonna happen if I say it again, rightie right?"
"I...do not think so."
"Well last thing I remember I was holding her sleeves and feeling how soft and velvety it was! And then I was going to say that she should totally let me make a little mini-cake topper that looks like her...But then there was all this light and...I think I passed out?"
"Well, that's about right. But rather...What do you know about Berserker?"
Her head shrinks down a bit into her shoulders at the question. I reach out and grab her hand.
"It's okay. We're friends. Saber is just like him."
"...Ya sure don't look like him. Where is he anyways?"
"Temporarily dead. Luckily, as long as you stay alive, he'll resurrect by tomorrow morning."
"So like...are you a dwarf?"
"...I...No..."
"Uh Penkay...What did Berserker tell you about himself exactly?"
"When he came to you to make the pact, that is."
"Pact? What pact?"
"The one that left a tattoo on your thigh..."
"That's not a pact silly! It's called a command seal."
I shake my head. She's ridiculously upbeat.
"Penkay...What did Berserker explain about...Why he needed to give you that seal?"
"Oh. He said it was like...to keep him alive and stuff. And I was like, well hey I don't like dying either, so if you need a master that's fine with me."
This woman owns a cakeshop.
This woman somehow manages to stay in business in a cakeshop.
"So...do you happen to know any...How can I put this...Magic?"
"Oh Oh! I know a lot of reeeeally cool card tricks!"
Saber sits down in the chair opposite me and I can see her cheeks implode from holding back the laughter.
"I mean ACTUAL magic. Magecraft. Witchcraft. Sorcery. Mystic Arts. The real thing."
Suddenly she's in my face.
"Can yooooou do that?"
I push her face away from mine.
I immitate something I saw earlier by the overseer. I snap my fingers and focus a tiny useless version of Djinn Fire to hover above my finger.
"Yup. I can. Can you?"
-Swoosh-
She cover the flame with her hands and it went out instantly.
"That's soooo cool! How do you do it?"
"You really are just a normal human, aren't you?"
Is normal the right word? Really?
"Yup. Not a robot. Not an alien. No magic. Juuuuust your friendly neighborhood cake baker!"
"What should we do, Saylest?"
I scratch my head. I'm still not sure what to do about any of this situation, even though Saber already said what we're doing tomorrow.
"Well...She is a Master. So we should probably tell her what's going on."
"Is that necessary?"
"Her shop is kind of in ruins thanks to us."
"WHAT!?"
"Right. That light you remember? Obliterated most of it and the surrounding buildings."
"I-it's okay! My family can help you rebuild."
"Just how rich are you?"
"It'd be an investment, of course. My family does have several investments like that."
"...So eeeeverything is covered?"
In my face. Again.
Personal Space. Please learn it.
"As far as...you know...the money problems involved. If you lost something personal...I can't really replace that."
"That's okay! I keep aaaaall that stuff in here!"
She poked her head through all her fluffy curly hair. I swear it sounded like she tapped a wooden box.
"Alright well...Anyways...You're in a sort of..."
I look at Saber waiting for my answer.
"Competition between Masters and Servants. Servants are...magical people...Like Berserker or Saber."
She swiftly turns her head to look at Saber, and then back to me.
I do mean swiftly too, her hair didn't even have time to finish falling before she turned it back to me.
"Saylest, you already used the wrong word. It's not a competition, it's a war. And in war you have two good choices, Fight and Win or Run and Live."
That...Yeah. I used the wrong word. I don't want this poor 'normal' girl to think she should fight against me. That'd just be setting her up to fall.
"Soooo what should I do?"
"Well, Saber and I are intending to win the war. So we were going to have Berserker join us to help, and then he'd just live a normal life after the war. But now you ended up as his master instead of me."
"Was that bad? I'm sorry! I totally had no idea. He just said he'd die if I didn't do it though!"
Lilian suddenly slides further away into the kitchen; I get the feeling she's has heard that threat of death before. Penkay doesn't seem worried though, just curious.
"It's alright. We're just glad he has a master."
"Okay sooooo...What was the light? Anyways?
"Another servant called Lancer. He was probably waiting for Berserker to leave the store and meet up with his master."
"They already killed Berserker once, seeing him come back to life left them no choice but to kill both berserker and his master in one shot. They likely assumed one of us were his master."
"Ooooh so it's your fault?"
"You do not sound very upset."
"Nope! Not really. I got to meet some interesting people!"
"That's...a good way to look at this I guess."
"She's very...optimistic."
"You could stand to be as well."
"I...don't know...about that..."

---Day 12, 6:30PM---
Spent a little more idle time getting acquainted and explaining a few more important details. Like a phone number to call her at. Or the fact that she lived in the top floor of that cakeshop, and thus now I have yet ANOTHER damn person to rent a hotel room for. Well, atleast she's not coming home with us...Come to think of it, I guess Viorica is staying here on the island since she has no place to go home to.
And if Penkay is here, I'm sure Berserker could live fine with her as his Master. He has regeneration, so he doesn't even really need a mana supply fed into him as long as he has a Master.
Miri and Rider are going to die if I have to kill them myself.
I don't really care much what happens to Richter. And if I bring him home...He's going to be annoying as hell, plus Saber might kill him on accident...And he's a huge risk if Alondite ever manages to get a bracelet back on him or anything.
Elizabeth sure as hell won't come home with us.
So it just comes down to Me, Saber, Caster, and Lilian...I guess in the heat of things I hadn't really considered that it's not really that bad. I have a ton of allies, but only four are coming home. I'm sure Saber will drag us back now and again to visit Berserker and Viorica...But either way...This is fine I guess.
"Saylest?"
"Oh. Sorry. Spacing out."
"If you're tired. We could always go to bed early."
"No no. I'm fine. Just thinking."
