A couple hours have passed since the destruction of downtown Corus. The street was still in massive disarray. People were walking around carefully, attempting to avoid debris that had settled on the street and sidewalk. The tension in the air was tangible. For a time, chaos had free reign here. It was easy to see.
Ciero walked into town. He has dressed to the nines. Full dress suit, scarf, hat, cane, all the accessories, however he wasn't carrying anything to draw with or on. He was just here to survey the damage he had caused. He glanced around and had to bring his handkerchief to his face to hide the smile. 'There is still dust in the air. No one will think it amiss if I breathe through this handkerchief.' Building fronts in ruins. Broken sidewalks. Shattered glass. People in shock and horror. The least amount of debris seemed to be in the middle of the street. So he walked right down the middle of the street.
A lady stopped him. "Sir can you help me?"
"What do you need?" He had pitched his voice high and spoke like he was above them all. He was, but they didn't know that.
His response took her by surprise. "I saw myself throwing rocks at windows. I don't understand it. I'm so confused."
He looked down at her. "Madam, I am not a psychologist. I am not even from this city. I just arrived here to do some shopping in the famous Corus downtown. Apparently my day is not to be. The jewelry store looks empty. This street is a mess. I must say this place has been highly overrated. Good day." His tone of voice was put-off-ish.
The lady was wide-eyed in shock at what he had just told her and then walked off. He continued his stroll through downtown Corus. He looked both directions to support his claim that he was trying to find an intact shop, but in reality he was seeing all the damage that he had caused. It had been a good day.

With graduation coming up here soon, Abigail needed to get something special for the big day. She wasn't sure what she wanted just yet, but there were a few outfits that she'd seen in the shops. She wasn't loaded, but she did have some spending money that her parents had been more then kind enough to give her for this shopping trip.
She couldn't wait, shopping in Corus was always an amazing experience. She loved the shops, she loved the music, she just loved the atmosphere. School was fun, but this was what she loved to do. The crowds sucked, but she was trying to figure out how to deal with them even better.
However, it was when she turned the corner to go into shopping row, that she saw the destruction. What had happened here? What could be going on? This was Corus, nothing bad ever happened here.
She spotted a well dressed man standing on the corner of the street, and went over to him. "Sir, what happened here?" She asked, trying to reenforce her shields. Her brain was being flooded with fear, to the point where she was sure that she would start to freak out herself here shortly. She didn't need that kind of a meltdown, she should leave. But, she wanted to know what was going on, this place was important to her, even if she couldn't do anything about it.

Ciero turns to the young lady who just spoke to him. He was a little annoyed that he hadn't realized she was headed his way. He leaves his handkerchief in front of his mouth.
"I do not know, young lady. I just arrived here not too long ago myself and found the same devastation that you did. I was hoping for some shopping but alas, it isn't meant to be. I guess I shall just have to return home."
His tone of voice bordered on arrogance but he couldn't help but let a little hint of happiness in. It had worked. Oh the power he could have. Oh the wealth. But he stops himself. It would not do to let this young girl see this. Yes she was pretty, but he wasn't planning on sharing with anyone. It is time to go back to Mercua and figure out what he wanted to do next.

Abi took a step forward, concern filling her eyes as the fear, pain, anger, and happiness of everybody around her hit. She tried to throw up her wall in front of her mind, like she had trained so many times in the past, but seemed to be having difficulties. There was too much emotion, and she couldn't seem to stop it. There was only one other trick that she knew to use, and that was to focus on only a single emotion around her, and make that the center of her world. In times past, she'd had a little bit of trouble doing that, as the emotion she picked was a very negative one. She had learned to find the best emotion in the bunch and go with that. Happiness was picked, and she put everything she had into that emotion and only that emotion. A small smile spread onto her lips as the others were pushed away, She was able to look around the destruction without feeling the hurt around her. In fact, looking around, this wasn't so bad. This was actually really good! People were hurt, in a panic, what else could she want? Wait...what was happening? Why would anybody be happy about this? She looked around, wondering where this emotion was coming from. She took a step back, trying to distance herself from all of the hurt, so she could focus. There was only one spot where it was coming from, only one source. What was it? Where was it...? THERE! The man that she had been asking the question too. He seemed happy by all of this. Why would he be? There was something strange going on here. "Excuse me, sir. Why does any of this seem to make you happy?" She asked, really not thinking that this may not be a good question to ask.

Ciero looks at the young lady as she asks why this made him happy. A look of shock crossed his face. How could this little girl know what he was feeling? He stamps down that feeling and goes back to his passive higher-than-thou face.
"My dear young lady. It goes like this. I've been cheated at one of these stores a while ago. I was coming back today because there are only a few stores that carry what I needed to purchase so I have to deal with that person again. To see the gentlemen got what was coming to him for cheating his customers, I will admit, made me happy. I know, it is a perverse happiness, but you can't help but feel a little better when someone you know did wrong, gets, shall we say punished."
Ciero gets a slightly sinister look on his face. Anger wells up in him just a bit. "Now a question or two for you my dear. How did you know what I felt and what made you think you should ask about it?" His voice took a sinisterly sweet tone to it as well. You know, that sickeningly sweet tone of voice that people use when they are up to no good, but don't want to outright say so. Yeah he was trying to scare her, but he also knew that she didn't have enough information to give to anyone to identify him.

Abi frowned a little. That was a very mean thing to say, and she didn't like mean people. Any kind of bad emotions were bad, but when you take a happy emotion and turn it into a bad emotion, that was even worse. "That's mean," she told him. "Two wrongs do not make a right, mister. Why can't you feel sorry for this person? Maybe if you cared a little, he would find it in his heart to right the wrongs that he has done to you, and you'll both be happier then being mean?"
She didn't want to see this man anymore, and when he stepped up closer to her, she took a step back. She could see him, the sinister look on his face, and she didn't want too anymore. "Stop being so mean. Just because you're angry doesn't mean you have the right to hurt anybody. Step back, or I'll scream." She went back to the one thing that girls of any and all ages have fallen back on from times beyond history. Screaming for help always seemed to work, especially when something bad had just happened around here. People would come from all over to help her, considering that everybody was already upset and hurt as it was.

"My dear young lady. Scream if you must. If I wanted to harm you in any way I could have done so a few times already. You remain here in your delusional little world. I shall leave you to your naivety and hope for a better world. If you ever wish to learn the truth of this world, you are welcome to try to find me again, but until then I do not have time to educate you on your ignorance and disrespectful attitude." Ciero takes a step back as requested and bows to the girl. "Good day young lady."
Ciero turns and leaves. He heads back to his home. The minor conversation with this ignorant young girl just annoyed him.

Abigail watched the man speak to her with growing horror. Who was this person? Why did people have to be so mean? It was so wrong, so horrible. She couldn't stay here any longer, too many bad emotions, so as soon as the man left, Abi turned and ran the other direction, heading to the train. She needed to get out of here right now.
She hated her life. Hated her curse of feeling everything around her. No matter how much she tried, she couldn't stop the flow of these feelings. She couldn't do anything but ride them, and hope that she didn't do anything she didn't want too because of them. She always feared that above all else, and now, with all of this pain and sorrow, she couldn't allow herself to break down.
She had to get out.
