It had been a while since he had seen her, the one he had taken over guarding land from. He had done it so she could heal. Sure once in a while he would scare off riffraff but he didn't do much. He kept the lands clear for her as he had promised. He kinda missed the larger fights from the old days but he was still gladly there. Now, now he was actually looking for her. Alex wanted to see how she was doing, to know if she was alright. As he walked through Centura he looked for her, asked around once in a while, even used his vampiric traits to track her. Sure, he was a Vampire but he also was human. Which meant he was different, but also being Mortis, meant he was special. Leonor, Mortis, and his other cousins - the Hunter family all had special traits as well as being notorious for being able to have abilities. His was Immunity to Holly things and having the famous thin boney Dracula form. Yet he didnt care, no one knew this. Unless they realized the scar on his neck was a cross.

As Alexander walked he hummed softly, keeping his head low lightly with the fedora brim hiding his orange and black eyes. The long coat billowing slightly as he walked through the woods. Soft scents flowed to him as he searched for Eve. He hoped she was out here, hunting like he would be soon.

The thrill of the hunt ran through Eve’s veins as she crouched on hand holding a spear the other lying flat on the ground her green eyes looking out for anything that moved. She did want to shift because she didn’t want to hurt anyone or anything, suddenly a movement caught her eye, a young baby deer. She smiled and began her stalking. She made it close and threw the spear only getting the hip of the young deer sending it crying out and running a bit wobbly around.

Eve pushed up and off the ground running before pulled out the spear and was about to plunge it into the deer again when she was struck from her left side sending her falling to the ground. A growl left her lips as she got up her now golden eyes looking at the full grown male deer. She got up and picked up the spear just as it ran and tried to attack her again. She grabbed the antlers and fell back but kicked the deer back. At that moment her wolf broke free. A howl of rage rang out as she lunged biting the deer on the throat killing it instantly. She let it fall and growled looking around before she took a leg off of it and ate the meat.

Blood stained Eve’s left side where the animal attacked her but it wasn’t deep and would heal fairly quickly. She picked up the spear in her mouth and walked away from the scene before coming to a river. She drank some water before lying down on her good side laying the spear next to her. To anyone that came b they would most likely think Eve was dead but she was far from it, full and tired she wanted to take a nap. When she awoke she would be healed and probably back in her human form….if left alone.

Alexander walked slowly, enjoying the actual scenery around him. Pausing he looked to the forestry, all of it was beautiful. With a soft sigh the male walked through once again. His feet treaded lightly over the forest debris covered ground, hardly making a sound as he went. The scents all around him were gentle and soft till that one came... The one that always bugged his senses. The very one all vampires hated, loved, and craved. Blood. Deer blood to be exact. Maybe a predator caught something - maybe he could take some from the predator? He shrugged and followed. Soon catching Eve's scent he paused seeing a dead buck with a fawn claw by laying down. The buck was missing a leg, he crouched down and touched the wounded corpse, looking at it he realized the deer was attacked by a creature and the fawn by some weapon. Yet... Her scent. Why? Looking to the antlers he saw slight blood from something. It smelled like her, really close to her. Standing he looked around. Did she do this? Or some thing else? He couldn't tell because he also smelled wolf. Then again her scent... It was with the wolf one. Walking over to the fawn he crouched down. It would heal, then again... No. He would wait. Standing he left and followed the scent of Eve and the wolf smell to a river. Stopping he saw a wolf, bloodied and laying curled up near the water. There was a spear by it. The fawn had been hurt by a weapon, a pointed one. The spear had blood on it and smelled of deer. So... This... Was Eve? She was a gorgeous wolf. Yet he also saw the wound. Slowly he came to where he wasn't behind her and stood a bit aways from her, "Eve? Is that you?" He said crouching down. Looking to the wolf before him. It smelled like her.

Eve shifted a little trying to get comfortable and yawned closing her eyes and keeping them closed before she began to fall asleep. She could feel the light pain of pins and needles on her side as her side healed. She heard a noise and caught a scent but didn’t open her eyes, though her ears stayed up. Then she heard the voice and she jumped up growling. She beard her fangs growling more as she moved to her left. Her fur was staying up and her tail was horizontal to her body, it was clear…this she wolf was not happy! She continued growling her golden eyes locked on him as she continued moving around him. In this mind she didn’t know this was Alex, the guy she was friends with. She could kill anyone that crossed her path in this form…she couldn’t control her wolf yet. She continued moving slowly around him before she pushed off the ground and opened her jaws aiming to bite down on her leg to keep this “prey” from getting away from her.

The male wasn't sure how he probably knew it was her but he was happy to at least possibly have found her. It had to be her though. The blood was her's. Looking to the wolf as it perked its ears up, he got ready to stand right before his eyes went wide. Using his thighs he pushed up and launched back, as well as caught the graze of the wolf's teeth. The fangs cut through the fabric of his pants that rested bellow the kneecap, tearing thin clean cut lines into his leg. The cuts bled well and puffed up but it wasn't as bad. He had cried out in shock but bit his lip, keeping the cry in as he rolled and swiftly moved. Crouching he narrowed his eyes, "Eve! It's me! Alex! Are you alright?" He made a face and growled to himself, "I don't want to fight - I'll block and damage myself, but I won't hurt you back." He said with sincerity.

The grey wolf gently and gracefully landed on her paws swiftly turning around with a loud roar, obviously mad she didn’t get flesh from her attack. She growled louder her lips curled up showing all of her fangs. When he spoke she took a step closer extending her claws, his words didn’t affect her in this form. She stayed in one stop her golden eyes still glued to him. In a swift movement she swiped at his leg claws fully extended and moved around behind him in a circle coming back to his front and lunging at him to take him down to the ground. This was not over until he was on the ground! She was going to feel so bad that she hurt Alex, when she shifted that is.

Alex had no idea Eve was a wolf that had no control. She was a sweet girl, a beautiful one as well. Even if this wolf of hers was a monster in her sight, he didnt see it that way. He saw it as something that needed to learn control. To be at peace with what it was. He learned it years ago; what was his lesson? Being beat into what he was by the musketeers and the stable hard hand of his Uncle. They helped him beat the vampire in him and to merge with it by accepting it. If he hadn't... He would be a half crazed man. Alex heard the roar and narrowed his eyes. To fight her was to become what she was. To think like a wild animal. He was the intruding prey and she was the one keeping the area as a hermit loner. His hat had fallen off when he rolled to rest in a small pool of water, while he took on a darker gray color. His nose scrunched up as he hissed. Barring his fangs as a threat. He wouldn't hurt her but he'd bluff to protect her. His eyes glowed orange as he watched her. Jumping back from her swipe to lower himself in a belly crawl. Snarling as he watched her hackles and lips raise. His eyes caught her lunge and he ducked lower, shoving up with his back to propel her over him. After doing so he whirled around. Taking his coat off and shoved it in a bush, his arms and body thinner and fingers clawed. Making it so he looked more of a threat than her. He didn't want to hurt Eve. He wanted to help her, even if his leg hurt from the bite.... Alexander still wished to help her.

Turning around the grey she wolf looked at the male before her, seeing the fangs and hearing the hiss made her growl even more her fur standing up her lip cured up even more and her claws out, she didn’t know who he was nor did she know she really liked him. Her human mind wasn’t “on”. When she was a wolf the only mind set she had was wolf and right now Alex was indeed her prey. She stalked closer growling the whole time. Her golden eyes stared into his no remorse or control could be seen. She pushed off her back legs moving behind a bush as if hiding but that was only a move she learned. When he watched for her to jump out she moved quickly around the side launching herself at his left side her front paws outstretched with claws showing to take her down and her jaws open hoping to bit down hard on the side of the man. She was going to win this battle, he wasn’t going to win. Though with her paws outstretched, if he wanted to he could grab her and possibly break her arm, or at least stop her from her attack.

There was no "could" in this fight it was a "must". Alex had to do this by force, as much as he hated to he must protect himself against this girl. He must not hurt her either, it would be hard on him if he did. Alexander couldn't hurt her, he wanted to help her, make her recognize him again. It was so confusing that she didn't recognize him, and confusing on why she'd want to hurt him. He never hurt her, never even did anything to her... Maybe this wolf wasn't her but was - like an uncontrolled emotion that no one knew of. If it was he understood, a lot more than what she knew anyway. Alex felt sorry for her; enough that it pulled at him to help her, to comfort her, show her a side not many saw past on the ruffian he was usually. Every bit of this event tied and twisted itself to mold his and her future even more. A future he'd need to be careful on as of now, why though? Well it was because her wolf wanted to kill him, if that happened- bed never see her again.

A dark menacing growl came from the deep course his throat provided as he stared at her through orange and black eyes. The vampire saw no remorse nor control, this scared him greatly. What if she did kill him? What if she succeeded in hurting him? If he survived there was no question she'd run away, he'd go find her. The wounds he'd get from her, they would never matter so long as he lived and helped her know… helped her know that he didn't care, that he cared so much that his wounds didn't matter to him at all - even if she hurt him. So each movement he watched, watched carefully. Hoping to be able to evade them. That was when she vanished into the brush. Her fur deeply hidden in the shadows as he crawled slowly around, joints cracking a bit as he was lower than most humans could move. Moving up a bit he then heard movement, his head turned to face the brush. The decoy.

The pumpkin eyed man growled just as a flash of grey came out from nowhere. Alex's side prone to her jaws as he felt her paws touch down on his arm and thigh. The sharpness of her fangs was what he felt most, crying out in pain he fell closer to the ground. Still using his arms and legs to somewhat suspend his torso over the ground. He growled, closing his eyes as the tearing feeling tugged at his nerves, "Eve! Let go!" He yelled as he dug his fingers into the ground. Hissing Alex looked to her paw. He didnt want to hurt her, no... No he couldn't but that was the option he had to get her to let go! If he twisted her paw a bit she'd let go and try and bite his hand which he could then grab her jaw and hold it shut... But... He didnt want to hurt her... Why, why did he need to hurt her!? Whimpering he felt awful, he didnt want to hurt her, but it seemed like it was his only choice.

She felt her fangs meet flesh causing her to growl louder as she bit down harder. Now her wolf got the taste of blood sending her into a blood lust state which was worse than her in wolf form, now she wanted to spill blood. He heard him speak but it didn’t register with her, she wanted his leg and wanted it bad. Then she’d go for the big kill, his throat. She was about to pull when he grabbed her paw and twisted it. She let go of his leg and roared at him. That just annoyed her and fed her wolf temperament more. She growled before her pushing on his thigh with her other paw trying to knock him down more than he already was. She raised over him showing her blood tinted fangs snarling before her jaws opened above his head and aimed for his throat to end this little game.

In his state of ponder he had moved, took her paw and twisted it. He regretted it, every bit of it but he was in pain. The extra pressure on his side leg with her teeth, made his side bruise and bleed more. With a cry as she released him he growled and moved, closing his body closer in a defensive way he watched as she came again. Vanishing in vampiric movement he grabbed her fury nape and pulled before wrapping his arms around her neck, close to her skull and tightened, "I'm sorry Eve, I really am." He said and closed his eyes. His body going normal as he clutched his arms right around her throat, he didn't want to do this to her but he had to. It would save them both. He didnt care for himself. He cared about her.

She had him…oh yes she had him.. her heart raced with the anticipation of blood in her mouth once her jaws locked on his throat. She blinked and he was gone. Eve lost her balance as he moved but regained it in a split second. Her eyes moved to the left then the right and that was when she felt the pull of her fur causing her to growl. But before she could turn and attack arms closed around throat. The she wolf thrashed and growled trying to bite at the arms restraining her but she couldn’t. Soon she couldn’t breathe making her thrash even more but now the growls were whimpers and whines no longer wanting to bite him, just to make him let her go.

She yipped and whined wiggling her as she continued to try to get out of his grip. Before too long her vision became blurry and then everything went black and her body became limp and lifeless. The trauma her wolf just endured caused her to automatically shift back into her human form. The sound of popping and cracking filled the air as she transformed from a beast covered in fur to a human girl with blonde hair, the girl Alex knew. Now in his arms laid Eve her eyes closed but still breathing and much alive, just out for the moment as her body recovered, and being a wolf it would recover much faster than a human.

Alexander Von Mortis kept his hold around the neck of the female wolf, his eyes closed tight as he let his instinct to protect himself guide his want to also stop her but keep her safe. The thrashing from her form shook him a bit but he remained where he was. He didnt let her go, the whines didn't stop him. It only meant, only meant that this plan was working. Soon the struggles died out and she stopped moving. Her heartbeat slowed and he heard the sleeping pace he needed to hear. His arms loosened and soon as he did, she shifted. Soon as he saw the girl he knew he held her gently, resting his head on her's. Happy as ever to see her, this meant he stopped the wolf hopefully for now. Alex breathed softly and let his heart settle down to a slower pace than a normal human's before he smiled a bit. Eve was alright, him… his leg was injured pretty good and his side had a bite into it. Not like he cared. It hadn't been her who did it, it had been a personality manifestation that came out in her wolf form. One hand rested on the ground, touching the shallow water - while the other held Eve to his chest as he sat in the smooth pebbly sandy bank. Sure he was still bleeding but it would slow soon, and when that was he'd go hunt for food to replenish his wounds into healing scratches, "Safe to say... I will be getting new scars..." He muttered and sat there quietly. Looking to the sky as he waited. Hoping she would wake, not to ridicule her. But to ask if he could be there to help her from now on possibly. The wolf may be a danger... But, she wasn't. He could help her learn to become one with the wolf.

For now her wolf was locked away, it wouldn’t come back out for a while. She laid in Alex’s arms still breathing and still very much alive. After a few moments, once her body healed Eve’s green eyes opened slowly. She blinked a few times before her hand came up brushing some hair out of her face. She moved a bit looking at Alex and smiled at him. “Hey Alex..what…what are we doing here?” She asked before the images what happened flashed through her mind just as the scent of blood hit her nose. Her eyes grew wide and her hand shaking came back up to her mouth covering it as her eyes listened with tears. She scrambled to get up quickly and move away from him. “Oh my gosh…I…I hurt you! I attacked you.” She said shaking running a hand through her hair shaking as tears rolled down her face. “I’m a monster…I need to go.” She said shaking even more, she was torn up about hurting Alex, attacking him. She didn’t want to hurt him.

Time spent there with her was quiet as the Dhamphir waited for the girl to wake. The wounds he endured didnt not ache now that he was only focussing on holding Eve, and making sure she was alright. He could hear her inhales and exhales as he held her, she was alive. Seeing her move and seeing her smile warned the regret and melted it away somewhat. Glad to just… see her. Smiling back at her and spoke, "I was hunting- and found you in the process..." Alex didnt know of the flashes of imagery but the soft sobs and her moving told him she probably learned what happened. He winced and pushed up to stand, wobbling a bit he looked to her. Her away from him made him sigh and he looked to his leg then side as much as he could, "Eve, you didn't mean to, I understand that. Your wolf, it's not you - it's a separate soul. It wasn't you who hurt me Eve. Please, you are no more of a monster than me." He saw the tears and looked to her directly, "I don't see you as a monster, I see past it because I care. Eve- please, don't leave." He didnt hold his side where he was hurt, he didnt play it up. He was not trying to make her hurt, but he was going to suck it up- just to show he didnt care he was hurt. To show he wanted to be there no matter what.
