I woke up this morning (afternoon, rather) to a very long message from Laurie to Apollo and I laying out a lot of her thoughts and how she feels the game will move from here. It was nice to finally hear from her, as her and I haven't connected a ton recently over the past few days. I do really trust what she is telling me, and I think she wants to go to the Final 3 with Apollo and I. I'm really putting a lot of stock in that. If she's playing me, then so be it, but I'm going to trust her moving forward. Things went along pretty smoothly in that conversation, but it was later on this afternoon where things were really shaken up. Max comes clean and admits that he/Trip/Laurie/Rose/Wes had made a deal last night to vote out Apollo tonight. Wow. I did not see this one coming - at least not tonight - I expected it to happen at Final 7. Apparently, Trip convinced him that we were planning on taking him out at Final 7, so he had to act first. (This is not completely untrue - I very may well have voted Max out at Final 7, but probably not). Maximus now swears that he has seen the light and will not go back on his word anymore. This better be the frickin case. Because it now makes tonight's vote very complicated. I believe that 4 votes will go Wes's way tonight. But the question is, do the others want to force a tie? And what does Trip actually want to do? He has not been online yet, but he has some explaining to do. I'll make a couple things clear, though: 1) If it comes down to a tie, I will not switch on the re-vote. I'm willing to take a purple rock tonight if it comes down to that. I don't think Trip or Rose will be willing to do that, though. So hopefully one of them will switch their vote to Wes. 2) I have very little trust left for Max and Trip. I will not feel safe in this game until they go home. Trip is trying very hard to split up the perceived 4, and he nearly did just that. Who knows, maybe he'll be successful in doing that tonight - I sure hope not. I don't know where Max's head is at anymore. He has shown that he is willing to flip and flop all around based on rumors that he hears in the wind. He proved that last night. I don't trust him anymore. |

Seems to be a pretty epic round here at F8. Your host is curious how tonight will go........ (sorry for the generic-ness, but that's about all I got, he he) |

Well.....that is certainly not how I wanted things to go down. But wow, what an epic Tribal Council and an epic night. I'm just glad to be a part of this season - there's so many great players here. The cream of the crop. And I'll keep fighting. I've been in worse spots. I lost A LOT of leverage tonight. It's partially my fault, I realize this. I don't expect to be on your Front Runner list after this. Unless, somehow, Trip really is telling me the truth (unlikely). Maximus has to be one of the dumbest players ever. I mean, come on man. I lost a lot of respect for him today. And I think he might have screwed me over the in the process. I'm not sure I have an in to the Final 3 anymore. Unless Laurie's crazy plan works. I don't see it happening, though - she put an even bigger target on her back. It's going to be tough to save Laurie from going home on Tuesday...but she is always a favorite to win immunity...but then who's the backup vote? Me? Apollo? Ughhh... Back to Maximus: what the fish, dude? What were you thinking? We had the Final 4 and you had the Final 2 with Laurie (part of me thinks that Laurie would have taken me, but I always kind of knew her and Max had a thing - it doesn't really bother me)...why would you waver, Max? This is all your own fault, your own doing. I had no choice but to cast this vote tonight or be completely ostracized if the tie-breaker didn't work in our favor. Now Trip is in control of the game. And he knows it. I just have to hope and pray that he will remain loyal to Apollo and I for one or two more votes. And try to make sure those votes aren't for Laurie - that will be tough to do. Because people know that Laurie and I are tight. Atreyu is a complete mystery to me. I have no clue what he thinks about things. Laurie thinks she has him. Trip thinks he has him. Apollo thinks he has him. I know I don't have him. But who does Atreyu really want to work with? I think that changes as the wind blows. Remember what I said about Atreyu not having any balls? Yeah, that still rings true now. Okay, here are my plans moving forward (this is very likely change several times before Tuesday): 1) Get a solid 4 with Trip, Apollo, and Atreyu. Lock that down, just in case. This is very flimsy, though. Trip panics WAY too easily. He flips and flops more than anyone I've seen. I don't think Trip has any intention of taking Apollo and I to the Final 3. 2) Keep Laurie safe. This will be tough. I'm going to try and swing things for a Wes vote on Tuesday. But if he wins immunity...then we're screwed. 3) Hope that Laurie can find a 4th. Because I think I can convince Apollo to go with Laurie over Trip. I think I can do this. But Apollo really likes Atreyu. I've been trying to put some doubt in his mind about him, though. My worst fear is that Trip/Atreyu/Rose/Wes have a Final 4. That was my biggest fear when I voted Max tonight. I even told Trip and Atreyu that. They've repeated over and over that this isn't the case. I have to hope it isn't. Pray that it isn't. There is so much game left. So many ways it can play out. But I was supposed to go home at Final 14. I'm still here. Against the odds. |

We've talked a lot about this in the Jury House already. When you read my own Confessional of the week or so leading up to this vote, you'll see that my biggest worry is that Apollo wouldn't be satisfied with our F4 since it left him with almost no options for winning, and that you would have no choice but to go along with him. I'd been expecting a move from you two at either F5 or F7 for quite some time. So, when Trip told me what he did, I didn't even think about it. I just thought, "Yup, this is it. What I've been waiting to hear. Sucks, but now I have to act." Damn you Trip. I really, really WANTED to believe that our Four were going to the end of our agreement, but I just couldn't fathom why Apollo would. There seemed to be nothing in it for him, and his claims that he was OK with going home at F4... it just seemed totally unbelievable. But yes, this was by far the dumbest move I'd made in this game, and very much in the running for my dumbest move ever. Not to beat myself up endlessly about it, but I do want to make sure I NEVER FORGET this one. |

Max I was REALLY starting to question Trip at F8....so I was TOTALLY willing to go with the four. I knew I was on the outside of that but I knew (felt) Dan would stay with me and felt that Laurie would pick Dan over you....so the F4 I felt meant a completely possible F3 for me.....so yeah the F4 was looking good to me at the end.

Oh, I know that NOW. Hindsight. But you have to admit, I had reason to be suspicious. If you read my Confessional, I talk a lot about when I think you and Dan were going to make your move. I was convinced it would be at either F5 or F7 (and F7 only if you really had Trip with you, and the hypothesized bond with Atreyu was real). So, when Trip came to me, it made perfect sense. You tried to recruit Trip, Trip smiled and nodded, and loyally came to me with that information. I mean, I was WRONG, and I realized that the moment I talked to Laurie the next day. But at the time, it all just FIT. Gah. |

Daniel!!! I could tell you were an outstanding player from the minute I stepped onto Bonsai. Hell... you were the main reason Apollo and I had to force the Max vote... to keep you in check. Hell of a game!!! If only I had made a move with you at F6. LOL... my bad. |
