I wouldn't want your job on this one because getting to the "truth" of things around here would be quite a difficult task considering the truth seems to change by the minute, lol.

...and wasn't looking for validation....just a little luv. :P

I got some love for you, bro. Ask questions. I'll answer. We'll need a lot of information to make this decision at the end of this thing.

Well I think I know the answer already (you told me in the game) but who approached who first Saturday night about targeting me?

I know Wes told me that Trip approached him first and you confirmed the plan. Atreyu played dumb to the whole thing and Rose played the no one ever talks to me card.

No worries, man. Everything said in the game is suspect, so I understand why you ask.

Trip came to me and said that you and Dan told him that you two were voting me out at F7. I swallowed that bait, the line, the sinker, the pole and the fisherman all in one gulp.

That is so funny that is the way he approached it. Dan and I were much more comfortable with the five of us than Trip was. I felt I had numbers within the numbers with the five and could have played down to that as the actual F5. Trip was the one that wanted to change things up.

Its interesting that was the approach that Trip used (his own plans/fears) as his method to try to sway you.

Honestly, man, I think that was his strategy from the beginning. Use alliances against each other, break each one of them down, split pairs, and keep doing that until there's nobody left. He'll do it at F6, at F5, at F4 and roll the dice at F3, spinning each of the remaining other two as bigger threats than him, and since he's already broken every other pair, there won't be a ton of loyalty between them.

I see it he could go a couple different ways for his choice at F3:

Dan and Atreyu
Wes and Atreyu
Rose and Laurie
Wes and Laurie

any one of those pairings can be played against each other, to make sure he's not the target at F3. I think he's more likely to eliminate challenge threats starting right now, so he can stack his own deck at F3, so I'm thinking it could be Dan and Atreyu he'll want to take, except that Dan has too many friends on the jury by that point.

He's got a pretty big choice to make - knock out challenge threats or FTC threats. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, Dan and Atreyu might be his best choice for F3 - Atreyu will know Dan's a major FTC threat, and Dan doesn't kick a lot of butt in challenges, so there's a very good chance Trip or Atreyu will win the F3 challenge.

Likely boot order, if Trip doesn't get the booting himself, is:

Laurie - because he can get the votes pretty easily
Wes - because he'll be making his own move against Trip at F5
Rose - just to remove her as an option, but this is probably going to be his hardest vote to coordinate, because both Atreyu and Dan will want her at FTC just because of the appearance that she hasn't done a damned thing since the merge.

That's my current projection, anyway.

A little more from my perspective.

I do fear I never was able to recover from my absence at the beginning of the game. The game couldn't have started at a worst possible time for me, or in a worse fashion. Basically the game opened up - in a setting where I couldn't focus my communication - the day I started vacation. No computer, just a phone, and not a lot of free time to really put in the time needed. My vacation ended the day AFTER Max's boot. So really, I was extremely handicapped at a critical stage of the game and was just trying to survive.

After the Max boot, Trip laid it out to me pretty clear since I had voted Wes (I was flying). He said that there was a three-person alliance of Apollo-Max-Dan and that Dan and Max were really close and that it needed to be broken up immediately. Personally, I thought that was a really aggressive, premature, over-thought move - and it made me wary of Trip - but I had no legs to really stand on other than to just go with it. Max, when you left, I probably genuinely did feel closest to you - as I told you when you re-entered the game.

Anyhow, that's funny about throwing the challenge. I almost wish you had so I could have skated by and re-entered the game at the merge :D. I really hated Bonsai. I knew I was at a disadvantage, and I felt I was sloppy, and I also could not pinpoint who exactly was close with who. It was a cluster-fuck.

-BOOM-SWAP-

I really lucked out with the swap. Lucy was one of the few players that I had actually spoken with at the beginning of the game. Same with Juliet - who came into the swap with a blood lust for her tribe-mate Lois. Johnny was quite cordial and Wes was the meat shield for which we could all hide behind.

An alliance formed pretty fast that included Johnny-Lucy-Trip-Myself - at this point Trip and I were very open with our dialogue and strategy. The first vote was as you'd suspect - an easy rally call against Wes - although, I did actually make a last case argument to Trip that keeping Wes could be to our advantage.

The next vote was obviously the big one. Juliet and Lois hated each other, but I actually got pretty close with Juliet. The target initially seemed to be be fluttering back and forth between the two girls, playing off each other's hate for one another. Trip was imploring me to open up more to Lucy, and so I did, and between the three of us, a plan formed to blindside Johnny - he seemed like a merge threat and a smooth talker.

When push came to shove though - the 15 minute voting period - Lucy backed out and wanted to target Juliet. Now, this is speculative on my part, but if I don't tell Juliet at the very last second - literally 2 minutes before the deadline - to vote Johnny - then Juliet probably goes home. Instead, she did and it was a 3-3 tie, followed by a 2-2 tie, in which I stuck with Trip, and Johnny went home due to the one prior vote Wes had given him the round before.

My thinking was after this round that I had all but proven my loyalty to Trip. Whether I trusted him completely or not was irrelevant, I figured he would see me as a valuable tool for his own game. Lois left because we knew Lucy was in a three-person alliance with us and I was close with Juliet, and then the final vote before the merge basically came down to a long-winded discussion of which player could serve us better at the merge. Juliet was my preference - I was closer with her and she had more connections - But I knew Trip would not keep her, she'd lose any tie, and I felt that sticking with Lucy bought me good will, and it did.

-BOOM-MERGE-TWIST

Literally the first message I got from Trip once we merged was throwing you under the bus Apollo, at least to me. He went on at length about how you had drug my name through the mud at Krypton and wanted to target me. It put us at odds immediately - but from my point of view, it only reenforced Trip and I's bond, as well as Lucy's who was hell-bent on going after Buttercup.

All of the double-boot craziness happens and we come to F10.

Lucy had put Trip and I in a 5-person alliance with Rose and Atreyu. But we weren't sold on that and we did have extensive conversations about you and Dan and rolling to the end in that configuration. He obviously had put a nail in you and I's relationship, but I still felt pretty comfortable with Dan, and I figured you were just purposely lying low after the Buttercup madness. We had messages breaking down each and every vote, which direction we could take, how it would affect us, etc.

From my point of view, at that time, putting myself in Trip's head, I thought getting rid of Laurie and Max made a ton of sense. It left him a TON of options at F8 - and my goal - as someone I thought he viewed as a loyal ally, almost a pawn - was to kind of undermine him by building better personal relationships - with Rose, with Atreyu, with Wes.

Going back to Bonsai - I knew, even though Trip and I had been in the trenches, that I needed to get rid of one of you (Apollo) and Dan because of how the Max boot went down. I knew there was a lot of jockeying for position, and that if push came to shove, I was probably the odd man out in that group. So my goal was to make a move against one of you at F8.

Obviously, the Lucy boot happened - and only Trip really knows his motives, and it very well could have been a genius move - and that altered my game greatly, but it was Trip's attempts at rationale after the fact that annoyed me so greatly. From my perspective, this is an ally I worked with tirelessly to survive 4 tribal councils at Jedi and the double merge-boot, and Lucy was an ally we had worked extensively to be an ace up our sleeve, an ally that had proven some loyalty to us in how she voted at the merge - and he went behind my back to throw her away?

Hey, I assume he wanted to set me up. That's fine. And turned out well for him and poor for me. But I saw it, and until I get a chance to really talk with him about it, still see it, as a move much like Max's first boot - a premature, over-thought move by a micromanaging type of player.

It might work for him. It seems to have been - although I do think he'd still be in the game IF he had kept Lucy and me. The real question ultimately ends up being if it works out better for him, and only time will tell.

Lastly, yes, I wish we had three compared some notes on Trip. I did a little bit with Dan, but that proved to be for naught.
