Greetings, Daniel-San!

A well-fought game from you and you did fantastic making it so deep in this. Be proud of getting
this far. It's a very tough season!

I've added a FINAL WORDS topic to your Confessional, and once it's done, I'll post your Final Words in tonight's Tribal Council for everyone to see.

And be sure to check the JURY HOUSE DETAILS thread for more info about your time here.

Also....

*EVERY JURY MEMBER NEEDS TO EARN THEIR SPOT TO KEEP THEIR JURY SEAT. PONDEROSA MEMBERS HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT IF A JUROR ISN'T ABLE TO STAY ON THE JURY ~ I WILL
BUMP ONE OF THEM INTO AN AVAILABLE SPOT.*

*SO, JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE OUT OF THE GAME..........DON'T DISAPPEAR. WE WILL NEED ACTIVE JURORS TO COMPLETE THIS GAME.*

*OBVIOUSLY, YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOG IN CONSTANTLY, BUT ALL JURORS NEED TO KNOW WHAT
IS GOING ON AROUND HERE..........AS YOU WILL EACH HAVE AN IMPORTANT VOTE AT THE END.*

* * * EACH JUROR NEEDS TO LOG IN A MINIMUM OF AT LEAST THREE TIMES EACH WEEK AND PARTICIPATE AROUND HERE TO KEEP YOUR SPOT IN THE JURY. IF YOU NEED TO BE AWAY.......
........PLEASE INFORM ME BEFOREHAND AND WE'LL SEE IF WE CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT. BUT
NO JURY SPOT IS GUARANTEED UNLESS EACH OF YOU REMAIN ACTIVE AND EASY TO REACH
HERE IN THE JURY HOUSE. * * *

Now....

~ A few questions for you to answer as you get settled in:

1) Which phase was the most challenging for you and why? Three tribes? Two reshuffled tribes?
First few rounds of the merge? Last few rounds of the merge?

2) Who have been your tightest allies throughout this?

3) How do you expect the next round to go?

Hello there. Can't say I'm happy to see you all. Haha. But I'm glad to be away from those crazy bastards still in the game.

Daniel-san! Ohayo gozai masu!

Although I'm really sad to have you join us now rather than at the end of the game, I'm also REALLY happy to have you here! Settle in, and when you're ready, give us all the dirt!

I'm going to answer all these questions tomorrow and will talk more then. But I need some sleep.

These are my people. Those still in the game - they're the worst :P

Daniel-san, sorry to see you go. Out of the Bonsai in the Jury House, I really did probably trust and want to work with you the most. We had pretty good dialogue going, even laughing about Trip's micro-managerial style of play, up until the day I left when I basically called you out.

Nevertheless, respected your style and game and was rooting for you. You got nothing but fans here. Join the fun, and happy to have you.

Wow. What a disservice. OK, the stock welcome is out of the way. Time for my real feelings.

Dan, although we were all pretty damned sure we'd be seeing you here tonight, I really hoped we were wrong. You may have been #1 to Apollo, and me #1 to Laurie, but I want to say just how much your friendship in this game has meant to me. Without you here, my uphill battle upon returning to the game would have been nigh impossible. Between you and Laurie - and Apollo, too - you gave me a chance to start to sparkle a bit, even if I never quite managed to shine.

So, thank you, Dan.

Now, let's do this job of awarding the title right!

Dan my man. You have no idea how it pains me to see you here. I knew it was going to be you but I was hoping against the odds. Welcome to the fold my friend....Jury House is not so bad.

I can't wait to hear about your last couple of days. See how right I was, lol.

Good morning my good sir. I hope your first nights stay was restful and rejuvenating. We do have some good fun here, as you'll soon see.

I look forward to hearing the updates on what's going on out there. Do you think Trip is in trouble Sunday night? Consensus here thinks he will, or at least should, be. I'm sure there is much more going on than we could know from our limited perspective. Can't wait to hear your side.

Again, greatly enjoyed playing with you. I did appreciate the time and effort you took with me in your messaging even if I wasn't a part of your larger plan.

Okay, here we go:

1) The most challenging phase was my entire time on Krypton when there were two tribes. I was in a great spot on Bonsai. Apollo, Trip, and I pretty much did whatever we wanted (sorry Max and Romeo lol). But...once the swap came, I was completely screwed. Rose already had a Final 3 deal with Buttercup. And Rose trusted Marion. And Buttercup trusted Atreyu, so right away I was on the bottom. Had we lost any of those challenges in that phase of the game, I would have probably gone home (although Laurie may have on that last one). But once the merge came, I was more than happy to mix things up. To work with different people and take out old-Krypton. And it worked for a while. And then it didn't. We can discuss that more later.

Anyway, yeah, my time on Krypton was so frustrating because the moment I joined that tribe I was at a 5-2 or 4-3 disadvantage. But we were awesome at getting immunity, luckily.

2) My tightest ally this entire time was definitely Apollo. We spent every phase of the game together. Neither of us ever wavered on our loyalty to each other. I really wanted to sit next to Apollo in the end. We told each other many times that once one of us goes home, the other is right behind. And we were right.

Not far behind is Laurie. She's one of the first people I talked to upon logging in that first afternoon. And we immediately connected. I never doubted Laurie's commitment to me. I know she had a lot of friends and different alliances, but she always told me the truth. And fought for me when others didn't.

Max, you bastard, I considered you a really tight ally at a couple different phases of the game. Those first few days, for sure, I enjoyed talking to you more than most others. And then once you returned, I was 100% wanting to go the the Final 4 with you. Until...well...you know what happened.

I actually considered Trip a pretty tight ally early on the in the game. But we all know the true Trip now. He has no loyalties. None. He'll cut anyone's throat at a moment's notice. And lie to you about it, even after it's been done.

3) This is actually a really good question. And one that I'm sure will be discussed quite a bit over the next couple days.

Once Apollo was voted out, my goal was to try and show how tight Trip and Wes were. Which I do think is the case. Trip absolutely wants to take Wes to the Final 2 because he thinks he can beat Wes (I'd never vote for Trip in any Final 2 scenario, but that's just me). For the same reason, Wes thinks Trip is the only person he can beat. So, they really do need each other or risk getting embarrassed in the Final 2.

This was the point I was making to Atreyu and Rose for the past couple days. One which they didn't listen to obviously. But I think I may have planted a seed. And Laurie was working on it, too. I think we almost convinced Atreyu and Rose to vote Wes at the end there. But Atreyu has no balls whatsoever. He doesn't do anything except follow the numbers. He hasn't made or tried to make one big move yet.

But Rose is also tight with Wes, surprisingly. Wes trusts Rose for some reason. He hasn't seen through he bullshit and lies yet, apparently. But I think Rose does like Wes, too - because she hopes she can ride him out to the Final 2 and get any easy win.

So, basically, Wes is becoming the goat that people want to sit next to. That makes him a valuable ally. Plus he is a big immunity threat. I'd actually vote for Wes to win this game over everyone else (except Laurie obviously), but I'm not sure you guys would agree. We can talk about that more as we go along.

I do think Trip is in trouble tomorrow. And I told him this repeatedly. I think he understood that, but didn't think he could make a move at Final 6. I think he made a mistake doing that, though.

My guess right now would be that Atreyu/Rose/Laurie will vote Trip tomorrow. Or Wes if he doesn't win immunity.

That's the same scenario I cam up with, too, Daniel. Tuesday would be a great time to cut Trip out of the game, assuming everyone's as clued into his bullshit as the four of us are.

The problem is that Trip knows this, and he's very good at creating targets where none existed previously. My supposition is that either Atreyu or Rose are his penultimate F3 partners - hard to vote for either one of them, while Trip, hate him as you will, has been very effective in this game. If he actually forms a F3 with the two of them, he can cut Wes loose on Tuesday, and Laurie on Thursday, going into F3 with a decent shot at winning this thing.

To do that, he's going to need to keep Atreyu and Rose doubting each other on a low-power level until F3, then ramp it up to make those two each others' targets. Or, at least, this is the plan I think he has. But who knows? The dude is an eel.

Oh, and for the record, the only time I doubted you was just as we were beginning on Bonsai - you had a bad habit of making a connection, thinking it was secure, and then dropping off the map while you went out to make new connections. But I got real happy with you, me and Apollo in those days, and though I was a little bitter by my first boot, when I came back in and pieced that story together, I was all-in with you guys. I only doubted Apollo occasionally, not you. You being loyal to Apollo meant some of that fell on you, but I knew that it *was* loyalty and I respected that. I was ready for a F4 where you and Apollo v. me and Laurie came to a tie and resolved it with (hopefully) a challenge.

Rambling, now. Need food. End this with a question:

Who do you think Laurie voted for in this TC?

Thanks for the breakdown Dan. Great to get some new information and a different perspective.

You honestly would give Wes your vote? Over Trip?!? The only player I'd even consider voting Wes over is Rose, and I am not even certain of that.

The man thought he was controlling New Jedi and had the numbers to take out Johnny....and was promptly "blindsided" 6-1. His challenge ability is admirable, but not enough to ever warrant gaining my vote. His reputation and the perception of him being an easy win at FTC has been a major factor in his still being in the game.

I'm not saying Wes isn't without merit - he is - but I personally have thought the two returning players was, and is, an unfair twist. Now, fairness has nothing to do with Survivor - Brett can do anything he'd like and it's our job to roll with it, to adapt - but it's still very much my perception.

Max, who I will tell to his face here, is a really, really good player. I didn't like how he went out his first time, nor did I vote for him, even if his exit ultimately helped my own game. But he was still voted out. In 99% of Survivor games, he's gone - inconsequential. Instead, he knew he would have the chance to reenter - took advantage of that where others failed, to his credit as a linguist - and got to basically skip 4-5 votes and enter the game at a time where he would be even more valuable as a possible free agent, and he would be immune for the first two votes. It's never ideal to be voted out, but I think Max would be lying if he said there weren't advantages to the path that led him to his ultimate placement.

Back to Wes - unless it was the Perfect Storm (sitting next to Rose, orgasmic FTC speech) - I could not personally justify voting for him. He was voted out. And the person he'd be sitting next to won't have been. That's THE main goal of Survivor - not to be voted out. One person would have accomplished that and one person wouldn't have. That's my own personal opinion on the matter, and obviously you are free to disagree and have conflicting ideas. That's the beauty of this game.

As for tomorrow night...

I think all of us have said that if Trip were to go, the move would be made against him at F5. Atreyu and Laurie have obviously been aware of Trip and his style of play for some time now. And Rose and Wes - to me - would be easy wins for either of them at FTC. It makes a lot of sense to get rid of him now. They've bide their time.

I disagree with your take on Atreyu's game. He outlined it perfectly to me when we first started talking at the merge. He said, in explicit terms, that there were a bunch of ego's around and he just wanted to sit back and let them blow themselves up. That's been working out pretty good for him, I'd say. I also had a lot of really engaging conversations with him and know he would present himself very well at FTC. I respect his game immensely. Again - OPINION ALERT! - Survivor isn't about controlling the vote or micro-managing alliances - it's about navigating your way to the end by any means and making an argument to win. Atreyu would not be in the game still if he tried to play a "controlling" game. It takes a special player to work around the ego's around him by swallowing his own. To me, it's a much harder game to play than what Trip has been doing.

As for Trip, I am curious why you seem so against him? Obviously, we've all been burned by him here - but, we all also would most likely vote for him in the end circumstances considering. What about your relationship with him, or events that transpired, makes you disrespect him more?

Again, was sorry to see you go Dan. I know I was never at the top of your list of allies, but we did have a good relationship and some good conversations.

It is actually really interesting to hear this feedback. I didn't realize I did that. That's good to know. I will have to work on this in the future.

Didn't you also doubt me at the Final 8? When you made that deal with Trip to take out Apollo? I know you said that Trip came to you and told you that Apollo and I were thinking about taking you out at 7 (which I would have never done). Once I heard about all of that, and you admitted it, my game really feel apart. Trip was clued in our Final 4 deal that didn't involve him, and I was forced to have to hope Trip would work with me going forward or force a tie. I should have forced that tie at Final 8 - but you would have probably gone home anyway because of previous votes. Oh well.

Max, I will say, even though you kinda blew up our plans at Final 8, I did enjoy every moment we spent together in the game. It was a pleasure to get to know you, and I enjoyed our talks tremendously. You are one of the people that I'm most looking forward to meeting once this whole thing is said and done.

Trip was aware of your F4 prior to my eviction. We talked about it at some length, so I don't know why he waited to break it up. I guess it doesn't matter since it worked out for him thus far.
