Wow. I'm so ready to cry over Daniel. Seriously. That was brutal. The way they all methodically went after him to get him out of the challenge. Then Wes throwing the challenge. So cocky that he didn't need it. Daniel - you are that special forever friend I made here. Everything we have been through. I wouldn't have wanted to share that with anyone else. No one else would have been as loyal as you. No one could possibly be. What an amazing guy. And now, Laurie is going to be the popular girl FOR ONE VOTE. I'm no idiot. You need me Sunday. But not after that. After that you can't be seen next to me. Because I now have a lock on three of the jury votes. So fill my head with more lies Trip, et al. I know the score. And I'll eat it up. And hope that Atreyu and Rose are sincere with me. What did I say in the beginning.... This game is all about trust. And what did I say on day 19... There is no trust. There is no trust. I am a sad and empty shell. I have hope.... But no trust.... Miss you Daniel. Miss you Apollo. Miss you Max. Miss you Juliet. Miss you Adrian. I'm proud to still be here, and maybe my tirade against Trip helped me. And maybe my truthfulness, once seen as such a problem helped me. But only I can get me past the next vote. It's up to me to win now. Daniel - I tried everything. Even promised to vote you out next. No deal. I'm right on your heels buddy. Might not even get used on Sunday. Rose might run right over to Wes.... ...see what I mean about trust?? Sad. |

So - Trip wants to have a LONG TALK about our future tonight. That's so interesting since he and Wes were running around trying to get the vote switched to me last night. Wes hasn't said a word to me. Atreyu wants Wes to go next and Trip after that, supposedly. And Rose just says today will be quiet. Rose is protected to F3 no matter what happens. And she knows it. Her tone is completely different now than it has been even last week. She goes with Atreyu and I. She goes with Trip and Wes. She probably goes with Wes and Atreyu... And with Trip and Atreyu for that matter - if that were possible. So of course things will be quiet. She has planned her way into every F3 scenario possible. You noticed how long it has been since she talked about how afraid she is that she's next... She used to always say she knew she was next. But not anymore. Because she knows better. Good job Rose. Trip is going to make his usual play to talk me into trusting him and voting out someone he has made a deal with. It will be Atreyu. But it wouldn't surprise me AT ALL if he started telling all about how he wants Wes out. Because in his mind - I AM THE NEXT VOTED OUT - so he can tell me anything he wants - lead me on - get me to believe he is on my side. I am surprised that he came clean to Daniel last night. Very surprised. There might be a heart in him after all. Maybe that is what he has learned here - there is no fun in this game without someone to share your heart with. But Trip likes to tell stories and work people up, and control things. So I won't be surprised by anything he says. That is Trip's jury speech - how well he manipulated the others into doing exactly what he wanted. That's not it Trip - you just weren't ever a threat to win like the others were. Wes is going to lay low. Wes truly thinks that by throwing the challenge last night that everyone has immediately forgotten what a threat he is to win this out. He knows he's got a tight bond with Rose - and she is telling him they are going to the F3. So he'll string me along with a few more comments about voting out Atreyu (Once he confirms his story with Trip - those two always coordinate their lies - like a pack of wolves). Just to make sure I feel like I'm ok. But his sights are set squarely on my shoulders now. The problem is Wes has to deal with his insecurity while dealing with his ego. That's a tough battle. And ultimately his undoing. He can't sit idle long enough. It's in his DNA to make a move, just for the sake of making one. His ego requires him to act. His insecurity necessitates it. And then there is Atreyu. The boy who must end 'The Nothing.' He truly wants to play a straight up game. And he understands that he is playing with a group of people who generally do not. That frustrates him and leaves him with little control. But he is also a good enough strategist to realize that he wins this thing if he gets to the end with anyone else but me, probably. So he will help me as long as it helps himself. He will WANT to help me longer. He probably dreams of telling jury that he wanted to bring the strongest competitor to the end with him. But in the end, I think his rational side will win out - as it always does in this game - and he will vote out the threats. Wes and I will be the next two casualties. He hopes that we can get Wes first. But if not - it'll be me. Because he will protect himself to win this game - the voices of the others will not be silenced. That's not talking bad about him - that is just saying he's a good strategist with a plan for the end. This is a game that I think only 3 of the final 5 can win. Atreyu, Wes or Myself. Laurie from the Social aspect Wes from the Physical aspect Atreyu from the Strategic aspect And like Rock, Paper, Broken Scissors... Social is the Paper that beats Rock Physical is the Rock that beats the Broken Scissors But those Strategic Broken scissors don't cut anything - because they just aren't as visible to the jury... |

NOTE REMEMBER THOSE PREVIOUS COMMENTS FOR YOUR JURY SPEECH AND QUESTIONS. For the record - if I could end this thing any way I want now - I think it's obvious what I want - but I'll state it for the record - I WILL TAKE ATREYU TO THE FINAL 2 given the opportunity. And I need to make sure that Rose thinks I will take her - because I'd never beat Atreyu. That's a step I need to take immediately to protect myself... Just in case there's a chance here. 5. Wes 4. Trip 3. Rose 2. Atreyu 1. Laurie That's how I'd like to see this play out. There's about 0% chance of that happenieng. |

You feel like the best chance of winning this game would be to sit next to Atreyu at the end? I'd like to hear more of your reasoning behind that when you have a chance. |

I think Atreyu is the only one who would even think about taking me to the end. And I think the jury would respect me taking the best competitor and not someone easy to beat. |

Sorry - it's a two show day, so I have to be brief. But my thoughts on the finals are that (not to sound egotistical) but it doesn't matter who I go to the end with. I have three votes waiting for me from the jury out of four members. I just need to get one more. I get that easy with Wes or Trip. Probably get it with Rose - just because she hasn't really made any moves of note. Atreyu would be the toughest to beat, granted. But I think making the statement that I wanted to go with the best. Could help swing one more vote more easily. But you never know. It really comes down to who would pick me at f3 to go with them. And that answer is nobody. But Atreyu is the ONLY one who would even consider it. It would be a good play to show my allies on the jury that he was willing to take a risk because he believed it was right.... Good.... Etc. But nobody is picking me at f3. No way. So I need people who won't necessarily cut me at f4... Another tough one. Who knows. Maybe these talks with Trip will help. But still - WHY does no one besides Atreyu want to target Wes. He's got to go immediately. |

I guess I'm mainly curious why morality is coming into play this close to the end. You always tend to approach these games from a moral standpoint that it's more "right" to play a certain way or more "wrong" to play a certain way. So where does morality fit into a strategy game? I'm not a poker player -- but I obviously know you have to be able to bluff to play well. So does a poker player who thinks it's wrong to bluff have any chance of succeeding in a game about bluffing? And there's an old Navy dice game that I think is simple, yet brilliant. My Dad taught it to me years ago. It's called "Liar's Dice." It's in the title itself......you HAVE to lie to succeed in that game. I'm just curious why you always put yourself in these moral pickles in SURVIVOR. ![]() |

Good question. This time is different to me. This one is not about morals. This is about who would take me to the end. Wes NEVER would. So he's no option to join with. Trip MOST LIKELY wouldn't. So not a real option there. Rose Probably wouldn't but could surprise. She's an option. And Atreyu just might, though I doubt it, it would be the toughest road. Bottom line, they are ALL telling me what I want to hear. So I am strategically assessing which is the best option. That's why it's Atreyu. He's also my toughest person to beat here. But he's my best option to get there. There is no morality here - there are friendships that have formed and broken and formed again. But my decision is based on odds. Not morals.... This time. |

You may have never even heard of that game............but you basically just inadvertently summed up "Liar's Dice" to a T.

Wes - Just have to make sure you know how my opinion of you changed 100% in this game. From those first couple days to the last days in the Jury House. You are a great guy - and so happy to have gotten to spend time with the real you - and not the guy I assumed you were from the start.

Could not have asked for a better friend than you in this game, Lane. It was a pleasure playing with you, as always. |
