LMAO Romeo I was just playing a game bro not tying to romance Trip. But I like the analogy. With that in mind the story goes more like this. We did meet in a bar (that much is true). She was charming and said all the right things. She wanted to get serious but I was already seeing someone so I wanted to keep it friendly. She pursued and promises were made. But she had eyes for everyone one else as well. She liked to play the field. Ultimately she got pissed when I didn't want screw over the people that had proven they were being more truthful to me than she was. Her reaction was to toss me to the curb. Don't know about you but a lady treats me like that...she's going to find her shit in the yard. Loving the debate as well Romeo.

I have appreciated Atreyu's game for some time. Dan and I discussed it several times. I was just afraid it would not get him to the end if he only followed the numbers...but he has proven he knows how to play that game well. I'm a fan of Atreyu no doubt. |

Oh, I have SO much to say about this post... where to begin? I know. To correct your analogy. So, you meet this girl at your company picnic. She says she really likes you, and god! what a jerkoff Jimmy from accounting is. Because you're both so close, and the girl of your dreams is dissing on little Jimmy, you diss on her too, because hey, it's office politics, right? But then she starts giving Jimmy the come-hither and starts telling him all the pillow talk about how much you hate poor Jimmy. So Jimmy convinces all of his accountant buddies to lose your paycheck. And then you get a promotion to HR and you have to decide whether Jimmy or that darling cutie of yours is the best representation of the company. You don't want to recommend either one of them, but at least Jimmy thought he was acting in a just manner. It's a hard choice, right? No, it's not, because bitch be crazy. --------------------- Next, and I'm surprised I have to say this so many times, ego ain't playing any part in my decision making here. I don't feel screwed, I just feel played. I think Trip is playing an amazing game, but I DON'T LIKE HIS STYLE. Not because of what he did to me, not because I don't like him as a person (that remains to be seen), and not because I'm butt-hurt for being voted out. Just, only, exclusively because I don't want to reward his play style. Period. --------------------- The pen is mightier than the sword. Trite? Maybe, but I still feel it's true. If you think that words don't have power, you're typing WAY too much, man. And, again, I feel no sense of betrayal. My stomach turns at how easily Trip has manipulated people around him, then cast them off once he was done with them, but I have no personal, emotional stake in Trip's actions. All I have is a vote and an ethical game theory. And right now, that set of ethics is winning out over the artistry of Trip's game. Right now. I'm not absolutely set on a vote at this point. I'm only expressing where my mind is right now, and it might change. But I can guarantee you one thing, Romeo - it won't change because you continue to accuse me, Dan and Apollo of reacting too emotionally to Trip's actions against us in the game. FTR, I'm not annoyed with you. Just the opposite - I've enjoyed the debate so far, and (as previously mentioned) I'm really glad that there is a split in the way we each want to vote. FTC will be all the more exciting for that, I think. But this horse is pulp. At least, until after tomorrow night and we can get a bit more information. Then we can use whoever joins us as a fresh, new stick to start the equine pummeling all over again.

Wes, I love the simplicity, yet pointedness, of your comments in the Jury House.

And yet, my overly-verbose, empassioned expounding warrants no comment from you, Brobst? Or is it just that you don't want to reward a form of conversation you find distasteful?

I'm glad I even had a spare moment to write in here at all. Can't really comment as to the debate. But I'm enjoying this Jury and their styles of "seeking out the game" - as it were. Carry on

Max, when I say "ego", I am referring to myself and my own philosophy. And I'm not accusing you all of anything other than the fact that you have opinions - which I've repeatedly said are justified and valid, no matter the differences. Absolutely, words are powerful. Oh, if only you knew how much I know that. But the difference is, other than my own competitive bloodlust, I don't see this game as either ethical or emotional. Maybe I did once, but not now. It's a game, you play a character, it's an outlet to be someone else and try different things. There's nothing anyone can do that is going to upset me on a personal level. That's just my philosophy, and I fully understand that it is not one that is agreed upon by everyone, or needs to be. Now, finally, we can talk about quantum physics and how Breaking Bad is going to end! |
