Why I was so crazy in this game...

Without telling you who I am, part of the reason I played so crazy was because I am retiring after this game, and I wanted to go out with a bang. I made bigger, riskier moves than I would normally make because I decided I would experiment. I kind of wanted to really go for the villain role. I wanted to be a big part of the story line. I have to say, it was actually a lot of fun. I'm not used to flying by the seat of my pants like I did in this game. I usually have a much broader overall plan... not a round by round plan, which is sort of what I did this time.

The other reason is that I never made any real alliances before the tribes were formed... and I started to realize that a lot of people were playing in the merge based on alliances formed on day one or two. So I just kind of lone wolfed it.

I loved your game - other than the selfish fact it cost me mine, ha.

But again, your last paragraph neglects me and our relationship. I was not around at the beginning of the game either. There was no player at the merge I had a relationship with, at first, that you weren't closer with than me. If you were a lone wolf - that was a conscious decision, not by circumstance.

I'm guessing you're way too young to retire. You'll be back.

I'd say you accomplished your goal - well done.

But you'll be back...they always come back.

I saw us as being near the bottom and outnumbered. We could have worked our way back in together, but we had very different ideas of how to do that.

It's hard for me to explain now that so much time has gone past. My confessional is pretty extensive. When the game wraps, you'll be able to find all your answers in there. You might not like them, but then again a lot of people probably won't.

Nothing I did was ever personal though.

And if I ever do come back, it will be at least a year or two down the line. These games are getting harder for me to commit to these days.

We just have a different idea of what it means to have an ally with "different ideas".

Anyhow, I don't take anything in an anonymous game personally. I am highly aware this is a game and that we are playing a character. I even argued that ethics did not matter to me at all in this little universe.

I do suggest you read the other threads when you get a chance.

Trip knows exactly why I went out of my way to bash him in the Jury House.

Once I knew I was most likely going home, I sent Trip a message saying that if he votes me out, then I will go out of my way to try to turn the jury against him. Which is what I did. He screwed me in the game, so I tried to screw him in the Jury House. Seems fair to me.

I said all along that I respect Trip's strategic mind and gameplay. It was very impressive. I just wouldn't have voted for him to win.

Dan, I was only referring to my stance on his game. I wasn't referring to your comments or calling you out. Apologies if you took it that way.

I didn't take it that way Romeo...besides there was no need to call it out, its all there in black and white. :)

I know exactly how Dan felt though because I felt the same way. I know my comments can come across as bitter...so be it. I don't believe Trip was shocked by anything I said in here. The way I saw it Trip worked against me in the game (and that was fine) but I didn't have to be happy about it and pat him on the back for deceiving me the way he did. Trip knew I valued loyalty and I suspect he knew how I would feel when I felt betrayed by that. A lot of that could have been avoided had it not been for Trips last message to me in the game. He lied to me till the end...even when he knew I knew he was lying to me. I would have respected his game a bit more had I got any a shred of honesty from him in the game...but I didn't. All I got was a "we need to talk about our game plan after the vote tonight", LOL.

O, I expected bitterness. That's why I wanted to get to the end with Wes.

Which is what I half-expected. Him or Rose.

Rose was like my arch-nemesis in this game. I blindsided her twice, once with the Buttercup vote and once with the Lucy vote. I never trusted her. I would have voted her out the second I had the chance, but someone was always protecting her... which is something to be said for her game I suppose.

You could have gotten her out instead of me if you didn't agree with what you "expected" people wanted to hear. From what I've heard from people here, the main reason, or a leading reason, they jumped at voting me out was because YOU were offering me up and giving them affirmation to do so. If you had expressed a stronger interest in going after Rose, I do think it could have been done.

However, you didn't think that was the best path for your own game and I can respect that. Just stating.

I can't say for sure that everyone would have been on board with a Rose vote at that time, but I would have been. Romeo's a better player, but Rose had been a vote for hire ever since the double-boot, and I did not want that hanging over my head until F7.

It's the players like Rose that scare me the most at a merge. They ALWAYS become more valuable with each passing round you let them hang around.
