This is a W/F found 1-1-1972 on Horn Island in Jackson County...

NO CLUES FOUND TO IDENTIFY BODY

Investigation into the identity of a decomposed county body,

found Friday on a sand dune on Horn island is continuing today by Jackson County authorities.

According to county coroner Benny Bryant, all missing persons from surrounding areas have been checked with no clues resulting. Autopsy procedures began Monday at Singing River Hospital and several tests are scheduled for today Bryant said.

The body was discovered by a family visiting the island authorities reported

the 1972 Horn Island lady was actually discovered 12-31-1971, but recovered 1-1-1972

White female Approx 45 yrs old 5'2"-5'4" in height

decomposed not estimated how long deceased

had arms folded across her chest.

This body was not washed ashore and may have been buried. Was found under the sand laying on a blanket with only a leg protruding from the sand. Hair found under the body.
Had long brown hair.
