Mystic Crossing
Founded in 1844 during America's push toward the West Coast, Mystic Crossing was one of the first-established mining towns in the treacherous Sierra Nevadas. Miners and other pioneers used to push their way over snow and hostile conditions to arrive here. Some moved down into the valley and over to San Francisco, while others chose to stay. Over time, a town developed. But the end of the Gold Rush saw many miners leave, and Mystic Falls dwindled until it became a resort and tourist town in the 1950s under the Eisenhower Administration. Now it flourishes as a quaint, cozy town hosting a variety of cabins for affluent tourists who want to escape to the cool mountains during the summer.
