My Mother in law owned a beat up old caddy that leaked rusty coolant from the radiator wherever it stopped. Soon it was banned from their neighborhood by the Home owners assoc due to the discolored driveway. It also had a stoopid trunk closer lock thingy.

You would gently close the trunk and the thingy would pull it tight the last inch and lock it.
(now thats an option)

So it burned out and the trunk wouldn't close tight and she was driving around with a coat hanger wire. OEM replacement was like 550$

So I bought a used one on ebay and installed it for @ 25$. It worked well for several months then- here she comes to visit with her wire, and puke rust all over my driveway.

Adjusted the closer height, disconnected the electrical, and welded the latch in place.
Now it worked like a regular trunk. Shut it, unlock it with a key.
Of course she couldn't comprehend this process and when I said "I welded it" she thought I welded the trunk closed

Went for a drive to SCarolina today to buy some lumber yup. This is my SC accent yup.

Headed N on the Interstate and almost got inta a wreck yup.
Huge RV towing a full size SUV going the speed limit in the Right lane when his left front tire exploded. Tar went aboot 100ft into the air yup.
He swerved left across the fast lane, through the guard rail, over the median, into the fast lane of the Soutbound side. He took a small toyoter with him.
He brought it to a stop as southbound traffic was swerving all over the place to stop.

I'm here to tell you I don't think anyone was injured. Unbelieveable. Like a figure 8 race at the fairgrounds yup.

Guard rail was flatter than a pancake. Toyota was sideways, RV was headed North in the Southbound lane. There were crap filled pants everywhere yup. Minutes later the tire came down. Whew

Be careful out there. Watch out for those RV's!

yup

Apparently there is a Gasoline pipeline break down in alabamie. So fuel headed for the Carolinas up to NY has been shutdown.
The good- The pipeline switched off avgas from another smaller line and started pumping gasoline. Then they started trucking to local distribution centers.
Pipeline could reopen this week.

The bad- Our saviors "The Media" have been spinning this story constantly resulting in citizens panicking and rushing out to purchase every drip of fuel they can find. The outcome is- most if not all stations in North Carolina are out of fuel.
Panick buyers just like a snowstorm.

But I don't need to go anywhere other than meals on wheels one day this week. Have plenty of water PB&J and dogfood for the puppies.

Oh, and I own a bicycle and closest grocery is only 12 miles away!

Oh my.
Hooked the trailer up to go pick up some insulation- about 30 minute drive.
15 minutes later stopped on Interstate 26.
Apple maps showed the road closed 10 miles ahead for a wreck. 10 miles of leaf peepers, and hillbillies trying to get to Tennasee, Semis, and casino tour busses.
So plan on getting off the first exit in one mile.
Both lanes stopped.
And here come the tards driving by on the shoulder.
About 20 of them.
They didn't know a police car was parked on the shoulder so slowly we all went by all of them as they were stopped behind the parked police car.
Hope they all
1) get a ticket
2) get a flat tire
3) run out of gas
4) pee their pants.
Morons.
90 minutes to go 1 mile.
This should be the last weekend for the tourists.... :)
