Lah,

Since it is rainy and cold out.

:rain:

I am thinking about next summer.

Let's get the guys and gals together and meet in Gloucester or Salem Next year for a little summer party. (or better yet, one of those neat beach islands you visit.)

Hell yeah!!! Already looking forward to it!

I was just out looking at my poor, neglected boat earlier today. I still have to wrap it up for the season. It’s looking extra sad right now all full of leaves.

I always leave it ready to go just up to before the snow flies. I’ve had some amazing days on the water this late in the year.

Unfortunately I think the 2017 boating season is over. <_<

I plan on spending several weekends camping out on Lovell’s Island next year. The more the merrier!

I owned 1 boat in my life.. it was a 17 foot Baja Ski Boat with a 150
Merc on it.. I had a 19 pitch stainless prop on it for skiing and a 23 pitch
pitch chopper prop for Speed. It could run 65+ on a calm lake.
Sold it when I bought a 3 person Kawasaki Jet Ski..
Used both on lakes.. I live at the ocean and trailered both 30 miles inland
To use them...

One boat Al???!!! :o

Damn man, you live on an island.

I currently have 5 boats, a 22’ Boston Whaler Revenge, a 10’ Achilles inflatable, and 3 sit on kayaks, one 13’ 3 man and two 10’ “singles” that will cary an adult and a small kid. All get used regularly.

My favourite one is the big kayak by far, it fits the whole family on it. We look like the Beverly Hillbillies when we are on it with all the toys, bags, beach chairs etc.

If you buy one more boat in your life Al, you gotta make it a kayak. You have some of the best paddling in the State right there. Ipswich town ramp out to the Crane’s Estate is by far my favourite ride when the tides are right.

There is a boat ramp 3 houses away from me.. At high tide,
I’ve seen 21’ sailboats launched there.. At low tide it is mud.
It is at the bottom of the Basin and if you take a left at the end
you will be in Newburyport Harbor..
Another left takes you onto the Parker River....
Would be a nice kayak ride up the Parker to Ipswich...
I’ve circled the Island on a jet ski once.. But way too many
Harbormasters and the Coast Guard to give you a hard time.

Lah, got a small cruiser last year. Not much of a cruiser because it is small for space at 22ft. But it is enclosed and has a 175 Yami on it so with flat seas it scoots pretty well.

We made it from the Ipswich mouth to Newburyport last year in just over 20 mins, so as an old sailor that impressed me.

Have not been to Lovells, so that sounds interesting.

This has been a good fall for boating, unfortunately because of work travel I had to end my season early.

Bob, You are referring to a good leg of the Great Loop, which I have interest in doing but I will probably work a few more years to try to fund it!

Yeat!

I have a little river run kayak that is my duck retriever when I run the logging roads in moose and deer season while the other guys sit inside on rainy days. I only went swimming in one beaver pond in late October before I went out and bought it.

Boat #2 is a 16'6" Algonquin Prospector from the Holy Cow Canoe Company, not far from my house. This is the family back country canoe trip boat.

I have books and plans for building a wooden strip/fibreglass kayak, but I think a flat bottom Jon boat that fits in the box of my truck will be my first project.

As soon as I find the time.

When I lived in FLa. bought a 28' Chaparral Signature cruiser. Twin IO's, slept 6 .
Owned it for two years and lost my ass on the sale...
They did throw in a free hat.
Have a 13 ft canoe now!

John,

Just so you know for the upcoming 2018 boating season.
I was over in Maudslay a little while back and set up some strategically placed potato guns.

Your friend

I watched the ISS the other morning. It was an incredible viewing, visible for about 4 or 5 minutes, very bright.
Not sure what this has to do with boating 2018, more of a spacecraft thread than a starcraft thread, but.......
